Pro tip by the way, I was looking at some of these last night, and it seems you can mix and match any of the "2 for" deals.

Meaning, something's 2 for 70? Throw a 2 for 10 in your cart and you'll be paying 40 bucks total. Everything gets halved when you add ANY other 2 for deal.

I was tempted to order a copy of Hyrule Warriors new in the 2 for 40 section last night with this little loophole, would have grabbed Batman or something else on Wii U to bring the total cost to 25 plus shipping. Not a bad deal, feel I'd actually stand to make profit on resale if I so chose too.
Edit: Gave in and bought Hyrule, along with a couple BC 360 games, total price was around 45 bucks, Hyrule had 9 bucks shipping which is a bit ridiculous but it's still a decent bit cheaper than any other new copy I can find.

Doesn't work, just put 2 for 20 and 2 for 50 and checkout shows correct price.

      • Worked for me just before, dude. Split it into two orders though, which is a bit weird, I chalked it up to coming from different stores or something.

        https://s7.postimg.org/dfbdtc5e3/poster.png

        • Confirmed working for me too.

        • +1

Still don't get it, in your image the second item is 2 for 40.

You bought only 1 and got it for $20 plus $9 shipping?

So it appears you can buy only one and get the discounted price rather than having to buy 2.

Can't see where it halves anything.

        • @Scab: works fine, you just have to pick 1 game from the 2 for $70 and 1 game from the 2 for $10 and total price would be $40

        • @Scab: Like I said, it weirdly got split into two orders, they were all in the cart at the same time though. Since the two 360 games were combined 5 bucks postage, I'd just assume they came from the same store, with that in mind, it could be every thing you buy comes as a separate order unless they're coincidentally from the same shop.

        • Thanks mate, got Hyrule new for $20, Bayonetta (preowned) for $5, and $9.06 shipping. Total $34.06

Not so sure about the resell value for WiiU games, since it's been hacked and you can play them all for free, but still a good deal, thanks again!

      • I added 1x title that was 2 for $10 and 1 x title that was 2 for $40 and the total price was $25 plus postage. No in store pickup available for some reason (I know the store near me has stock, I looked 2 days ago and they had multiple copies of the titles I selected)

      • +1

I think what he meant is that you don't need to buy 2 to get the discount. So you add 2 games for $10, and you can add another (just a single piece) game that is in category 2 for $70, that game will be $35 instead needing you to buy 2.

        • Yeah right, basically you can buy just 1 instead of 2.

And you don't need to split the order.

        • +1

          @Scab:
You still need to buy 2, just that it can be in different category. Get 1 from 2 for $10 and 1 from 2 for $70, the total will be $5 + $ 35.
It took me a while to understand, hahhaha.

        • @akte:

          Yeah, just did that.

          1 from 2 for 10 and 1 from 2 for 50.

          Total $30 + shipping.

        • @Scab:
          Yeap, you got it!

    • Thanks, got some of the Wii games i had my eye one for a while :)

  • skate 1 & 2 for $15 seems decent since those games still hold up. However one is 360 the other ps3 I'll pass.

  • +2

Could pickup 36 titles for the Wii-U for $180. Not bad if you had one lying around.

  • There is a new 2 for $40 game deal at JB too:

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/games-consoles/games/2-for-40-game…

Bonus points if purchased using a Ultimate Kids gift card via the current deal at Coles.

  • While this is a good deal for some games, most of the games are still cheaper at CEX such as FIFA games on PS3 that are like a dollar there but still 2 for $10 at EB Games.

Just a heads up for anyone ordering online from EB games. I purchased 10 of these titles, 4 of which they cannot fulfill the order as they could not find the games, and they resolve this by including 4 $5 gift cards. I think this is a dishonest practice. I brought these gift cards in store and requested for a refund together with the shipping (they charge like $3 shipping per title), but the manager said shipping is not refundable, so they just refund the 4 gift cards. Essentially I am paying additional $12 for the shipping for the 4 gift cards. This is absurd.

    • +3

Yeah, that doesn't sounds right. Go higher!

    • +5

Thanks for the warning man. Glad I paid with AMEX, I'll charge-back the (profanity) if they try to pull that on me.

      • are chargebacks easier with amex or something?

    • And FYI, I bought previously the 2 for 40 titles (advertised as new and not preowned). I got one of them without a cover and the disc is scratched. Luckily the staff in store found a new one unopened and I exchanged it.

    • This happens a lot, at least a fair few times for me that I stopped ordering online. It's more headache than going into a store and browsing in person.

If you're not picky about games that don't have covers, scratches or NA/EU releases, go for it though.

      • +1

In other words, if you're not a collector and just want to play the games.

        There's always wiiu.guide though lol

    • Just msg them and they are normally happy to resolve it

    • Well, assuming you were charged more than the cost of shipping on six titles, you effectively bought $20 of store credit for $32!

    • +2

      We got a sale on.
You want to buy games that are out of stock but advertised as available? WE GOT YOU!
You want the refund for those OOS games back in the form of a gift card that can only be spent instore?
      WE GOT YOU!
You want to be charged for shipping on those games and then when you ask for a refund we tell you "no can do".
      WE GOT YOU!

    • +1

Did they resolve this for you?

      • +1

Yes. I got my $20 refund at EB games chatswood. The manager said there is nothing he can do about the shipping.

        • That's bullshit! They can't charge you postage for sending you something and then not send it. Did you escalate your complaint or haven't bothered? Don't let them get away with it!

  • thanks OP.. but no Mario Kart for the old Nintendo Wii :( really wanted to suprise my son

  • last deal is 10 for 2 PS4 games a lot netter

  • +3

I purchased heaps, over 40 games. At checkout they actually break down the cost of shipping as some games are sourced all around Australia.

So you can remove the game or two that is adding $8 shipping.

A note on quality. I was lucky. Most came in good condition, about quarter were missing a book or cover art.

Discs, almost all good expect maybe 2.

    And 3 refunds.

If you like your games almost like new, stay the hell away from this. I didn't mind, because some games were going for $30 on eBay if I wanted to play them otherwise.

So in the end, each game cost about $7.50 each.

    • What games did you buy? 40 is quite a lot!

Had a look at the titles not really good. Can’t be bothered with it. I rather $40 for two JB Hifi PS4

    • There's also a 2 for $40 deal going on at EB as well.

    • JB over EB every time.

      • Same shit really

        • @Aussie World Warrior:
JB: There's a surcharge for amex.
EB: If you don't like it, return it with [7,14] days for a full refund

That being said, I'm just kidding. I guess I hate the way EB advertise consoles with a low price in huge text, then as you get closer, you see "When you trade in your current console, 20 games and your firstborn son"

        • There's surcharges for Amex everywhere. I've never returned a game ever because I research before I buy. EBs sales are 99% bullshit, 1% truth.

        • @Aussie World Warrior: I have to go with JB after I bought 20 360 gamea for a dollar each, that was a great sale

        • @Aussie World Warrior: I only really see amex surcharges at Aussie online shops, JB and restaurants. I'm one of the dicks who uses EB Games as a blockbuster video for games I want to try, or can beat in a weekend. prepares for downvotes

        • @idonotknowwhy: They can ban you at anytime for abusing the system, have they ever mentioned anything along those lines to you? The fact that they resell those games you're returning as 100% new is the precise reason I never shop there. Deceptive bastards.

        • @Aussie World Warrior: yep, that's what I meant by dickish (feel a bit bad for the people buying my returns, not for ebgames)

Nope, the dude at the box hill store knows what I'm doing and is totally cool with it lol.

        • +1

@idonotknowwhy: EB should really disclose this important piece of information to potential customers that are buying games advertised as new with a price point to match. The returns period is now as high as twenty days for level five members.

        • +1

@Aussie World Warrior: I agree. Dog act. They should give you a SEALED game like JB do (not all the time, but what can you do).
