  • Does anyone know if this will work with OnePlus Dash charging? I believe it operates at 5V 4A, so Dash charging would work with this and the correct cable right?

    • This is advertised as 2.4A per port though

      • Yep it wouldnt be able to charge the camera at all when operating, just slow the battery drain

    • That's a no. There is a baozu model or similar you can buy which has dash charge capabilities. Check out the XDA developers forums for the exact model.
Alternatively, you can buy the oppo vooc car charger. It's the same as the OnePlus charger (same company and technology)

    • OnePlus is very particular with their charging hardware compatibility.

  • still looking for something that will rapid charge the pixel 2 + a spare port at a reasonable price..

    • I just bought one of these - haven't received it yet though - https://www.tomtop.com/p-k6492.html

Should fast charge my Mate 10 and still have a second QC slot
      Output: QK2.4A 5V/2.4A, Smart7 4-12V/3.6A MAX

Cost me about $10, I already have a spare 5A cable.

      • Pixel 2 doesn't use QC.

      • Thanks but not sure if the charger you linked will rapid charge the pixel 2?

        • It sure will. The pixel 2 charges at 5v 3a which this does

        • +1

@Herbse: It doesn't fast charge it completely though as the Pixel 2 supports 9V/2A charging.

        • +2

          @Herbse:

This charger does not support USB C power delivery which is what the Pixel uses for fast charging.

It will charge but not at the maximum speed that the phone can do.

        • @spaceflight: Are we looking at the same charger? Somewhere, a USB IF designer is crying but that hardwired cable should do USB-PD at 5V 3A. Slow, but acceptable.

I'd definitely pay for someone like https://lygte-info.dk/info/ChargerIndex%20UK.html to test these though, we're starting to play with enough power to cause problems.

        • @voltagex:

          I was wrong.
I was thinking of the v1 standard which has a maximum of 2a 5v so 3a would be beyond the specification but the newer versions have moved beyond this.

      • +1

I've got one of these and it fast charges my P2.

  • Pretty sure it won't be able to dissipate the heat when it is charging heavy loads.

    • It is rated at 24 watts of power. The devices that are being charged would be heated up, which is normal.

      • If the charger is 90% efficient, 10% is being lost as heat. If you are are charging at the full 24 watts, 2.4watts is heating up the charger and trying to escape somehow.

        • Then again it is rated at 24W so the heat should be fine(!?).

        • @sky blu:
You will probably be able to charge at 1-1.5 amps but above that it will get too hot and maybe melt the plastic or burst the capacitor. I don't own this one but have owned these types before. The worst case scenario is where you have your phone/tablet plugged in and keep using it while it is trying to charge. After 30 mins or so the charger will be very hot. Maybe someone who has a high power type like this can comment.

        • @adam-07: i see. Thanks for sharing. Just bought this so hopefully it works as advertised.

The WAZA lightning cable is reported to be of high quality (good value for the price) so let's hope the WAZA brand is good.

    Thanks OP.

      He's wonderful isn't he =).

      • +3

        So true!

  • bought one. hopefully will last better than my Daiso ones.

    • Oh, I'd guarantee this Waza brand charger would be better than the $2.80 ones from Daiso :)

  • Will this charge an iPhone 6 for my dad? at a decent pace?

    • Yass, it should be able to charge 2 x iPhone 6 :)

      • After adding to the cart iu cant find where to put the coupon

        • Can you please see Step 4 in the Checkout Process in the post description.

  • These are fine, but no where near the output stated. Takes 3.5 hours to charge my galaxy s6

    • That could be due to poor quality cable?

      • No. I have two original samsung cables, have also tried my sister's iphone 6 same results. Also have tried in 2 different cars with the same results. Maybe others have a better experience with these chargers.

    • +1

Since the S6 is using Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 you're better off using a QC 2.0 or QC 3.0 charger. For an S6 it would roughly take 1 hour, 20 minutes for you to charge from 0% to 100%.

I never knew you are so knowledgeable in phones and chargers!

        • +1

When you work for a certain manufacturer you need to know these things!

        • @Clear: You need to share your knowledge more (often).

        • +1

@sky blu: Definitely. Check the BlitzWolf posts. I've been more active in correcting people there lately.

    Thanks

  • +1

    Thanks OP, bought one.

  • +2

    Awesome deal op :).

  • its $4.01

  • Sorry, your coupon has exceeded the maximum limit for usage.
    Sad :(

I'd argue this is an insufficient quantity for a <$5 item.
The more stringent the rules are for quantity the more stock reps will have to put up.
A benchmark should be set, say min 500 units if under $5, or min 1000 units if under $5 with no limit per transaction.

    • +5

Noted. I'll ask the rep to reserve 500 units as a special order just for you, no limit per transaction.

      • No limit per transaction. That's one for each car!

    • +5

So you'd rather 200 people didn't get this deal, have I got that right?

  • SHOULD I CONSIDER IT AS STANDARD DELIVERY TIME FROM “LIGHT IN THE BOX”??
