The $88 Telstra deal with 60GB data is probably better value, but the 200GB deal would be a good option to replace home broadband if speeds are decent in your area.

    • Replacing my home broadband is exactly what I was thinking. My ADSL speeds are pathetic at around 1-10mbps where as my 4g speeds are 25mbps. Is the cheapest way to keep the main 200gb sim as my phone sim but share the data with another sim (to use for home broadband) to buy the $15 per month 3gb data sim or is there a cheaper way.

limit to 12M/1M, you wont get 25mbps

        • I'm doing a similar thing with former iPhone X offer, using unlocked telstra aircard I'm getting 45/25, think 12/1 is for Vivid wireless.

    • +2

Is that an $88 Telstra plan with an S9?? I can’t seem to see that one anywhere. Thanks.

    • Especially including free streaming

Keep in mind these are leasing plan so you don't own the phone after 2 years.
These plans are only worth it if you're planning to upgrade after 1 year

    • +1

No, it looks as though you get the same deal whether you "own your phone" or "lease". You just need to change the tab.

      • -3

owning the phone costs $10 extra a month from memory

        • No need to use your memory. Click through on the deal and you'll see that it's the same price 😀

        • So $110 or 130 instead

      • That attached plan is leasing

      • +1

That's only for the $120 p/m plan though. The closest purchase plan to the $100 p/m 80gb lease plan, is buying the phone at $105 p/m for 60gb (20gb less).

I can see his mixup, OP has listed the lease price alongside with an offer obtainable by lease and purchase without any mention of lease

    • Keep in mind if you use their $99 upgrade it is considered by Optus the same as breaking your contract and you will have to start paying the $20 per month for the tablet.

    • Also with leasing you have to keep phone is good condition otherwise there will be additional charges

  • Where is the mentioned Telstra deal for $88 with 60gb of data?

  • +1

If you are looking to combine with your last year's created Optus account, you'll be in for a surprise that they can only consolidate new and old account by September! Double data won't show up until your 2nd billing cycle too.

  • +1

$105 for 60GB plan, $100 is for lease.
200GB plan is same for lease or own $120

S9+ can be had for $125pm for 200GB plan

  • I stsy far away from the big telco. They just rip you off. Its all the other fees and charges they make their money from.

    • Their customer services is absolutely crap…. but rip off? Hardly…. especially if you have good Optus signal and join at the right time.

I currently have 3 line with Optus total data pool of 146G and only paying $90 a month. You tell be an MVNO that can off such deal?

  • To much hassles with lease plans if you scratch or damage your phone in any way there is hidden additional costs at end of contract

  • Did Optus end their Friends and Family deal?
