  • Links for black and green are busted…

    • Black OOS.

  • So this thing doesn't receive notifications from a phone?

  • +9

No heart rate monitor, calories counter or pedometer. Strictly for running and distance measurement. My phone already does this. Was gonna get for the wife but will hold out.

If you are a runner, once you use a GPS running watch, you wont want to go back to using a phone. The convenience and accuracy of the watch is worth it. Saves on running down the battery life of your phone also if GPS is on.

This TomTom is pretty basic of course (without wrist HR monitor, wireless sync etc) but the price is terrific if there is still stock. At this price $38, you are usually looking at basic step counters rather than a GPS running watch which links to Strava etc. I think your wife missed out if she is a runner and you are on a budget. If you want the bells and whistles and are a runner, you don't usually mind paying $300-$500+ for a running watch

**I just tried to order (pink one in stock on the website) and it wont accept any address for delivery and you can't click and collect either. So you cant purchase it at the moment.

      • I managed to order a TomTom Runner in the end and it arrived yesterday - took only 2 days - impressive. Just a heads up, it comes with old firmware which doesn't support Bluetooth sync with phones. However, if you connect it to the TomTom desktop app via the desktop mount, it updates the firmware on the watch to support Bluetooth sync.

        A bargain for $38

Just a heads up, I think people in the other post for TomTom factory scoop items from JB were saying that stock is refurbished.

    • Not as I read the post. The originator appears to have retracted the allegation.

What is another option for a cheap GPS watch?

    • +1

      Phone?

  • Looks like black & green version is sold out.

  • It says you can sync with an app but then it says wireless sync: false. So I’m not sure if it can do much at all. It has claims of heart rate and pulse but then says false to these too. I think it’s pretty much just a GPS tracking distance and that is all. I was hoping you may have been able to use it as a tracker ie. throw in child’s bag and monitor where child is on the way to school etc. but it can’t even do that.

      • I thought the multi sport had the built-in heart rate monitor?

        https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/04/tomtom-cardio.html

        • Yes multi sport has a built-in heart rate monitor, the runner doesn't.

@runner65: My bad just checked my invoice and it says TomTom Multisport Cardio, didn't realise there were two different series.

So I feel a whole lot better now as I thought when this deal was posted that I could have waited and bought the green and black Multisport and saved myself $30 :)

I think this should have been its original price!
Useless pieces of jokes with ridiculous prices coming out every day

For those that want the "top of the range" model - the Adventurer, you can get it for $199 (instead of the $449 RRP) at https://www.tomtom.com/en_au/sports/multisport-watches/?utm_… and using the code TTADV

  • Just got mine, it was shipped overnight !!?!! via Toll from Melbourne to Sydney.

  • I received the pink multisport and had history on the device.
I have emailed JB-Hifi on how to go about a refund due to it being a refurbished unit

    • Aren't factory scoop generally used items? Ex display etc?
How did you go with JB?

      • It would usually mention if it is refurbished.
There was another member who had also received a refurbished watch

I went into my local store and they were pretty apologetic and took it back. I was informed that I will be refunded in 2-3 days

        • Ah okay! Easy fixed then. Good to know for future reference

  • For anyone who missed out the black version is available again
