They might, my experience has been very good with price matching, picked up a few gen 5 iPads last month and the price match took no time at all, just show them the pic and they generally accept it if it's within their guidelines.

Mathnerd didn't pick up on the math error? These cards are not at 10% off, but rather, an extra 10% of value. Therefore to get $459 of card value, you would need to pay at least $417.27 (459 / 1.1) to get a gift card that has $459 loaded on it.
Either way, if using entirely gift card value (and there are only $50 and $100 gift cards?) You would need to spend $450 on these gift cards, which would get you $495 of credit, then spend $459 on the iPad, and have $36 remaining on one card.
Limit to 10 cards per transaction, but no limit on transactions, so virtually you can buy as much as you like. 😊

Coles Gift Card: Coles Gift Card is not accepted at Coles Express or Liquorland. Coles Gift Card cannot be used to purchase other gift cards.

Does this still work? Last time I checked I couldn't find the portal to purchase e-gift cards from AGL since they changed to their new layout.
AGL says you get the discount, but they just redirect you to giftcards.com.au which doesn't indicate you get a discount.
So at the moment, no discount then? I couldn't find that link, from the past I noticed they used the ambassador card to get the discounts.

I wonder if that is an omen. Last time I took up one of the 'extra 10%' offers at Coles it was with Dick Smith gift cards. Then a couple of months later they went bust…
Keep in mind the David Jones website terms and conditions states that "A maximum of five gift cards or eGift cards can be used to shop in one transaction online".

I bought a couple of these gift cards at lunch today. The extra 10% doesn't appear in the value of the card in the validation print-out part of the receipt, but there is a line "10% bonus value loaded on David Jones gift card" near the bottom of the receipt. I can confirm that when I made a purchase on the David Jones website later on, the cards redeemed at the correct amount and included the extra 10%.

Loads at Eastland VIC but extremely rude service when I questioned whether my bonus credit had been added. Basically told me the promotion was nothing to do with Coles and they couldn't help me. This was at the service counter checkout as well. Looks like only $50 cards? I wanted $100 ones to buy an iPad online.
There’s $100 ones but they might be hidden (I found some behind EFTPOS cards at Fairfield West). Alternatively you can buy a couple of $50s and then get Customer Services to consolidate into one card so you can buy your iPad online and not hit the max 5 gift cards limit
Ahh good idea but can't be bothered going all the way back and also going into store. Some discount is better than none. Have a $100 previously from a gift anyway.

You get points on gift cards purchases at Coles e.g. if you bought a $100 DJs gift card, you'd get $110 loaded onto your card and 100 flybuys points

btw, i saw heaps of cards at the cbd store, but they didn't have the 10% sign, so i asked them, and they said that they are excluded from all the sales, coz they are 'special', well they didn't use 'special' but that's what they meant anyway =p
