HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card - 60K FF Points off $3000 Spend, $199 Annual Fee

110

Looks like this deal is back on. Decent card with 60K points for $199 annual fee for those between ANZ/AMEX cards.

Biggest draw card for me is it supports apple pay! Means you don’t have to apply for supps for a few people to have access to the card (though those are free too).

  • $199 annual fee
  • Earn rate 1PPD (capped at 2500/mo, then 0.5PPD)
  • $40K minimum income
  • 60K Qantas frequent flyer points after $3000 spend in first 3 months
  • Must not have held a HSBC credit card in the past 18 months to be eligible

HSBC online banking is atrocious, although the update has made it look prettier, it still runs like ass both on the website and mobile.

  • Setting up Apple Pay and Google Pay for HSBC credit card is a pain. It will ask to call a 1300 number. Then, talking to someone overseas (either from Malaysia or the Philippines) who will have no clue what to do or have no clue that Apple Pay and Google Pay are 2 different things. Well, at least, that's what happened to me.

why this card and not qantas money? https://www.qantasmoney.com/credit-cards/premier-platinum
more pts, less fee for first year and other perks

    • Maybe for us folks who's holding the qantas card or is within the waiting period

      • Were you able to get a pro-rata with the Qantas Premier when you cancelled?

        • Haven't cancelled yet but I doubt it

    • Por que no los dos?

    • After the first year Qantas Premium has higher annual fees plus extra for additional cardholder, ie $349 total, so for those wanting to keep a 1 QFF point per $1 card for a while, best option would be HSBC

        • @wxyz234: ok I said For the pounbts. Which is pre-coffee for for the points. No need to get ya knickers in a knit.

  • Who’s looking after hsbc process? Not citibank right?

    • HSBC is the issuer.

  • Currently have it. It's a good looking card.

No deal, St George 90K points for $139 is better

    • I agree

  • I'm on a mission to build up my QF points this year but after watching Dirty Money Ep4 on Netflix recently I'm not sure I want to be a customer of this bank.

    • Not disputing your conscience , however, show me any bank that is not dirty?…
