Telstra Prepaid 4GX Broadband USB & Wi-Fi Plus - E8372 $19 at Target

120

Seems to be the best price around at the moment, with typical prices on the web being about $35 and upwards. If an extra $1 is spent it qualifies for $20 minimum Click and Collect. There are $1 or so items in the Entertainment section and perhaps elsewhere.

Edit: The linked page does not mention any free data. See comments below.

Edit 2: Contributors below mention that these modems are currently available in store at Coles for $14 or $15. I wish I'd found that deal! Anyway, that knowledge is here now for all thanks to the great caring and sharing Ozbargain community.

  • Comes with 3GB from memory

    • It says 3GB on the box but I think it's been increased to 5GB.

  • Thanks, I've notice that too elsewhere. The page for this one doesn't mention free data so not sure in this case.

  • I'm not sure if it's nationwide, but my local Coles had a sign saying these were $9 (or maybe it was $15, can't recall exact price) at checkout.

They do come with 3GB upon activation. You could also unlock them but it's quite a bit of effort if you search the old threads on the E8372.

    • They're $14 each at Coles - they were in the previous catalog and there are a heap of signs at my local Coles still - looks like expiry is the 1st of May.

  • +1

FYI Optus has a data SIM plan at the moment, 200 GB @ $70/ mo, no contract.

Saw them for $15 at Coles too, not really a bargain.

  • Can these be unlocked reliably?

    • For $80 you can unlock them reliably at Telstra lol.
Had trouble finding someone who would unlock this and Telstra refused to budge on their price. Fast forward 12 months and it's unlocked for free.

      • So you left it untouched for 12 months, and voila! Unlocked it became?

        • Lol not quite. I asked Telstra recently if they could unlock it and they said they could unlock it for free and did. Maybe 12 months is some kind of rule? Admittedly it could be 6, I didn't try to unlock it until recently.

    • Yes there is a way to unlock these, it’s a bit of a task. I managed to do it on mine a while back.
