British Airways Run Out Sale

111

BA are offering 250 sale seats for return Economy travel on British Airways from Sydney to London, for departures 1 February to 31 March 2011 and 1 May to 31 May 2011. Sale starts midday (AEST) Saturday 8 January* and ends midday (AEST) Sunday 9 January 2011, unless sold out prior. The Run Out Sale price will be determined by England’s highest innings score at the Sydney Test match, played between 3 and 7 January 2011. When the match is over, we’ll deduct England’s highest innings score from our lowest return Economy fare from Sydney to London to give you the Run Out Sale fare.

England scored a massive 644 runs so the lowest economy fare will be discounted by $644.00!

The deal will be available at ba.com between midday (AEST) Saturday 8 January* and midday (AEST) Sunday 9 January 2011, unless sold out prior.

Availability is strictly limited to 250 seats, so be ready to visit ba.com at midday (AEST) Saturday 8 January 2011* to grab yourself one of these great deals.

im not + 1'ing this deal solely on patriotic terms

    • Im gonna go out on a limb and say that we wont win another series until we get rid of the old codgers and find the next warne/mcgrath/waugh. Our current lineup is simply not good enough, besides ponting no player is going to remembered.

      • We could hire the Paki PM's bodyguard to 'take care' of some recalcitrant ACB members…that might stir things up, make way for some new blood on the team! :p

        • +1

          Leave Boonie alone!!

  • page link actually states $620 off, where did the $644 come from?

  • +1

$620 was just used as an example. England scored 644 runs so that will be the discount.

  • +1

Damn, I thought they were selling off their planes…I was gonna call dibs on a Concorde! :p

  • lol i like how these comments have turned to the game than the bargain itself

  • +4

and there i was cursing Johnsons T20-like economy rate, silly me.

shouldve kept bowling short Mitch, BA would have ended up paying me to fly to London.

  • +1

If Ozzies knew before they would have let Pommies to score over 1000 to get cheap tickets to London and discover how to select players and play the game itself. Pity, pity,…

  • -4

If England’s highest inning score is 620, the Run Out Sale fare will be the lowest economy fare minus $620.

The advertised airfare of $1975 includes all taxes, fees and charges and is correct as at 16 December 2010.

so England scored 644 so price will be $1331 return

flight center has melb to london for $1263 taxes included

    not such a great deal.

With BA though (which is probably codeshare with Qantas) or "bring your own food and parachute" airways ?

Who would want to travel to England at the moment?

The gloating would be unbearable everytime you open your mouth…..

    • sore loser?

      • +4

        no, just bad winners…

      • Actually a very sore loser with the "effort" we put in…. :)

    • Stay here and plunder their goodies via low GBP & the Internet with the bonus of pissing off Gerry Harvey!! ;-)

  • +1

AHHH my dates!! and i've already paid $1600!!

    $300 wasted…

    • +1

who did you get it though, some companies have a price guarantee, (pretty sure flight center did when i few to EU a couple years back) if they flight goes cheaper they refund you the difference.

      • serious??

it was STA travel. do they do this price guarrantee?

        • +1

hmmm there price guarantee only looks like you can get it when you book….
          http://www.statravel.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/au_division_web_liv…

guess you could see what the cancellation fee is… though probably wont be worth it…

        • yeah $460 to cancel

thanks for the help. i'll book by flightcentre in the future, price matched to the lowest elsewhere.

        • hmm that said i cant find anything on the flight centre page either, so confirm before you do… (it pretty much only said the same as the STA stuff)

British Airways "Run Out" Sale. I wonder if Shane Watson is involved here.

    • GOLD!

      • Very, Very Funny…

    • If I could click + 100 times, I would. For now, just the one.

  • Love the humour, but 250 seats over 90 days (Feb, Mar and May) = less than 3 seats per day nationally - perhaps not even one per flight? Good luck, I think I'll pass.

    • Pretty sure that's not the way it works. It's first 250 bookings over those periods rather than issuing 1-3 seats per flight (though each flight has its own booking classes so you couldn't for example have 250 bookings all on the one flight either at the lowest price - they'd go progressively higher as the cheapies were sold - but the discount would remain).

  • So did I get this right? I just check the price for flying May it is $1126AUD.. so they could deduct another $620 if the inning score is $620???? WHOA… thats CHEAP!!!!

DID I GET IT RIGHT???? and is the timezone they state is UK or Australia timezone???

    • is that return price?

they'll deduct the total from a return purchase. best i saw was 2160$ normal price for return.

  • SHUCKS… you are right.. thats only one way.. so return would be 2118… oh well.. nevermind.. got me all excited… I will give it a miss then.

  • Seeing I know nothing about cricket, what's "England's highest inning score" that will be applicable to this discount?

  • Sale starts in 2 minutes people!

    • $777 discount here

    • And now the site is down :(

Unfortunately our systems are not responding, so we are unable to process your request at the moment.
We apologise for this inconvenience and suggest you try again later.

  • I can't see it here still show as 2633

    • Well, I got in right on midday and the discount was definitely applied once you selected the flights and clicked through.

I never booked as I wanted to make some changes and now I'm receiving the aforementioned error.

      Disappointed :(

      • I got in exactly on middday as well, but it shows as the above price for two all the way through til now….disappointed:(

  • heyi cant see it eiter do u have to right to the end wat dates did u get ?? im on it since 12 ??? is it workin ? not even showin a sale!

    • exactly the same here.//… I can;t even see a sale at all since 12AEST!!

    • For example, these flights were showing as around $1100 each on the previous page. Clearly a discount has been applied: http://img.whirltools.com/viewer.php?file=132325655377805118…

      • I saw the price on your page since last night….don't think that's a discounted price

        • +1

          The price on the previous page for each leg is $1156, that's $1156 x 2 = $2312.

With the discount, as shown = $1474.24.

In my books that's a discount of $837.76.

What did you expect to see: "FREE"?

  • I know I know… but what I am saying is that I can see the $1474 since last night, and it is not the price for the "run out sale"…..

    • +1

The discount may have been loaded early.

Did you want a special message that it's a discount? I saw this on the site:

IT'S A DISCOUNT ESPECIALLY FOR CARTONWM — YOU SHOULD BUY NOW!

      • has anyone got it ???

        • I managed to book return flights in May for myself and my son for around $2650 total. Thanks to mtchairs for posting this deal (",)

  • is there a promotion code??/ cant get the price at all :9

  • Thanks for this deal. Had been umming and ahhhing about going back to the UK for ages so on the spur of the moment booked two adult tickets for $2948.48 return.

The fares initially came up as $1126 each person each way and then on the final screen it was automatically discounted to $2948.48 so a saving of $1555.52.

I checked Webjet before booking and the next cheapest was Air China and then Virgin. I'd rather fly BA.

I made my booking around 3:00PM and had no problems getting the dates I wanted. Leaving May and returning late June. Now to work out an itinerary!!!

  • i cant get it at all will u post link u booked from please

  • i can see it now thanks

    • I just clicked on the picture above then on the red book now button at the bottom
