      I personally use Pocket Weather (bought it to support the developer) although user Syousef mentioned there are some other alts that use BOM weather API

          @homersimpson: The whole layout/colour scheme is pretty ugly - but that's subjective.
          The ad in the middle of the screen is off-putting - and the half black, half blue layout is odd to me.
          It's also a bit too busy on one screen to be classed as 'Simple'.

          There's so many weather apps out there to try, I don't see anything on this one that would get me to install it.

        I wholly recommend and use Pocket Weather as well. I find it a nicer interface than the official BOM app.

        The OP app is worthy of a download however as Pocket Weather and the BOM app are both useless when you go overseas.

        Tapping the hour it opens my clock/alarm and tapping date opens the calendar.

    Been looking for a weather app that can notify if forecast weather hits or exceeds manually specified parameters e.g. Temperature, Wind speed, gust speed, rain quantity (mm) etc. Does anyone know of any that uses BOM and has this feature? Happy to pay for the app.

          @homersimpson: yes that would work perfectly if it contains the summary of the trigger event, and if tap on the notification would take the user to the details directly - that would be the icing. Would need to have a 2 week lookahead (I know weather changes a lot in 2 weeks but still useful for precautionary measures).

          You've gotten me thinking now - if there was an option to turn on and off the reverse scenario i.e. If the parameters are breached in either direction - up or down.

          If you're doing an app, I can't wait to get my hands on it - Android preferred.

    The more and more I see these types of posts, the more I believe app developers are just having fake 'sales' of apps they supposedly charge for money but developers actually never intend to charge for just to get downloads by people who want to 'save'.

      I think it's more so their bots can spam their star rating up, if you notice of the 10,000 installs there are a lot of 5 start reviews all since the app was installed. How else do you get thousands of 5 start reviews for paid app (other than having a good quality app)?

    Why does the transparent widgets not let you cycle between locations, but the other 2 types two allow it. Cant change font colour of widget. The Weather and Clock Widget app is more customisable if widgets matter to you.

    Weather Apps are the biggest scams on earth.
    They entice people with cool graphics whilst completely forgetting about the core purpose.

    Get BOM Weather, no company has a more accurate reading of the weather besides the bloody Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
    Rest of the apps either use the american company AccuWeather or they get their feeds from some dodgy place.

    For me, im happy with 16bit graphics as long as someone can tell me in digits if its hot or not tomorrow

        Depends on what you approve. I have no permissions, and it works. Not that my location and it data isn't already collected by a lot of companies, but this one is hardly dangerous.

    I've a question related the weather app (Andriod) . It asked me to permit to access storage/media file and telephone/contact, just two days ago!!! I blocked.

    I've no idea why they need this. GPS location is okay, it makes sense but why they need to access those files for weather???
