I don’t know why they don’t just reduce the price of their petrol to be on par with other retailers…
rather than handing out these ‘targeted’ offers, inspite of which they are still more expensive.

Cue the “My Coles Express is still more expensive than other servos” comments.

Not sure what their business strategy is, but they used to be competitive, and it's like the decided one day that business was too good and that they wanted to be the most expensive in the country. Shell stations used to always be full, with the streets sometimes becoming a car park with people waiting for a good 20 minutes just to get fuel.

      • Yeah, thats my train of thought too pretty much …
I remember when I used to go there frequently.

Pay less at Woolworths with 4 cents off and 5% gift cards, with prices so much higher.

  • +1

Yeah I don't think they are fooling anyone when their prices are consistently so much higher

    • Flybuys I guess…there are lots of people who cares more about flybuys points than prices

  • Thanks

  • My local (Coles Express @ 250m) used to be the cheapest fuel within a 5-10km radius. Often cars queued on to the road waiting to fill up.
But lately the BP (850m away from me) has been consistently 6-10c a litre cheaper the last few months. I am wondering if this is due to them no longer offering a 4c discount (although currently there is a fuel discount for in-store purchases of chocolate bars).

Coles express is 10c/l more expensive in my area

  • FYI they send these out if you have filled up in the past and then don't for a week or two.

I keeping getting them almost weekly after I stopped using Coles express to fill up but if I got back and use it then I won't get another one for another week or two.

I'd hardly call that a bargin but if you've got a few people in a family then cycling through 4 flybuys cards could make it work provided you can them at coles for a shop every so often.

They never have these offers near the bottom of the price cycle.

  • Usually save a lot more than this offer using Petrol Spy (web or app).
    Support the discounters.

Coles /Shell prices are consistently way over the odds, they refuse to participate in Motormouth (in Qld anyway) and if you call up a Coles servo they won't tell you the price over the phone. Scaaaaaammmmm .. :-( .. !!

Voted neg. My local Coles was $1.47 yesterday and the Seven Eleven was $1.36 - this is not a deal.

    • Combine with a $0.04 voucher and you'd be $0.03/l cheaper. Of course that's assuming you have a voucher lying around and not having to spend $30 just to get it.
