I've been looking for one of these for a while and despite the fact that it doesn't appear to be on sale, it's significantly cheaper than JB/TGG ($479):

  How much better is it compared to the Xiaofang or Dafang cameras after applying the fang hacks? I understand these have some extra features like face detection. Big negative for me would be the subscription service.
  Anyone who has these could please justify paying this premium price??

    I set my house up with Xiaofang, then Dafang. Then I changed over to the Nest Cam IQ and Nest Hello.

    The software is much, much better. The Nest Cam actually can turn off automatically when any one of us arrives home, and it shares the facial detection with the Nest Hello. It also has Google Assistant, so when someone rings the bell, the whole house goes "… Is at the front door", provided you had set the names beforehand.

    It is much more expensive, but as a recording camera, the Nest work much better than Xiaomi. Xiaomi is fine if you just want access to the live video feed.

    I tried the fanghack last year, but it's just too much hassle to make it more secure to access on the internet….

      is this a 4k or 1080p ?

      how much it costed you? is this a good price ?

        Nest Cam IQ has a 4k sensor but 1080 feed. Automatically zooms digitally (to the original 4k feed) when it sees a person.

        I bought the nest Cam IQ at B&H when there was a $80 rebate, about 280 AUD after shipping.
