  • Brings the U2711 to under $700 after cashback from MoneyBackCo.
    Pretty good IMO

    • never got anything from MBC….and I bought a few times from Dell in the past

      • Placed an order last night and got my moneyback transaction recorded today.

  • and it was under $650 back in EOFT sales 2010

    • Yeah I know I got it then :)
But for those who want one know sub $700 isn't a bad price, albeit not the cheapest it's ever been.

  • No U2410. I'm crying.

    • thought 2410 was the one with inconsistent back lighting issues?

  • +1

man, Dell need to get some decent projectors, they used to be pretty good(they haven't moved with the times and upgraded.). now they mostly have 1024*768, bring on the full HDs!

they are still a good price, just need higher res ones…

  • Got a great deal on a 24" monitor from them 2 yrs back, if only the 27" ones would get a bit better on price or I'll have to settle for an acer model.

    • Only problem AFAIK is that the acer 27" monitors and the ASUS 27" monitors are still 19201080, whereas the Dell is 25601440. The only other monitors I know of with this reso easily availlable in Aus is the Apple 27".
      Also IPS v TN IIRC.

      • and also fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu expensive

        • You pay for what you get. You want the nice PQ and high reso then you have to pay for it.

Well the Asus 27" is already $488 at MSY, time to consider if an extra $200 is worth the extra 2 year warranty and PQ of the Dell.

        • +3

          ^here's a hint, yes it's worth it!

  • The Samsung 27 is around the $480 mark as well at MSY hard to justify the extra for the Dell.

    • Yeah but the Dell is 2560x1440 resolution, what is the Samsung?

      • Same as the Asus, 1920*1080.
The Asus IMO would be the better choice for $8 more as it's LED.

        • Unless you're going to cheap out on electricity bills, LED backlighting (corner lighting) is not going to make much of a difference in terms of output of colour. I'm open to criticism for this comment and please do correct me if I am wrong.

I'd rather have the higher resolution with CCFL than lower electricity bills.

  • Thinking of getting the U2311h, been eyeing it for a while.. I've heard that if you call/chat with a dell rep then you can get the price lower, $249 is the price I see hovering around. Can people in the know elaborate on this?
