they have increased the price to $100 for each phone

Is this really a deal then?

    • beat me to it.

  • Is there an option to select any other phone for $400 credit.

If not, can they change it to $200 store credit?

    Has anyone tried this?

    • My wife ported into Telstra from Optus last weekend at JB Chermside on the 12 month $49 deal and got the $200 voucher which she put towards an iPhone X. Should still be available.

      • Thank you.

I am pretty happy with my Galaxy S7 Edge, I want to buy my nephew new handset but not too expensive. Let see if it will work for other cheaper phones as well.

  • Was going to head in for the $849 for S9+ deal a couple of days but alas the deal has expired.

Someone did mention we could offset the $849 (now $949) with jb hifi gift cards?

I can't believe I missed out on the Pixel 2 XL for $59 a month deal.

    • Grab the next deal on counseling then

Don't sweat it. Literally no-one who got the deal received a 100% non-faulty phone.

      • granted it's still early, but haven't found any issues with mine yet

    • esp. when porting in as it's $49/m

Someone in the original post said it's still available although the Telstra store said it's $69

    • You can still get it but it's gone up to $69 pm. The smaller Pixel 2 is still $59 pm

      • How much was the smaller pixel before?

        • $59 it's stayed the same. Seemed odd that they had the 2 XL for the same price as the P2

Saw a post of the $699 deal over at Lifehacker. I don't understand why these are good deals. It looks like marketing fudging numbers to me. Instead of advertising it as $100+/month plan, they are charging an upfront cost + monthly payment.

It's still better value by my calculations. It equates to just over $80 per month when you add up the total costs and divide by 24 for the standard S9 on Telstra.

      Handset cost $799
      Byo plan 12 months $588
      Option 1 - another 12 months Byo $588
      = $1975 รท 24 = $82pm

      Option 2

Find a byo plan cheaper than $49pm and pocket the savings

Option 3 Get a Pixel 2/ 2 xl and save a further $13-$23 pm but be locked in for 24 months
