    Is this volunteer sockpuppeting?

    • puppet?

      I’m sorry,i’m not,and also i have place order
      Order number : 1805070429312790

I have one, and the automatic night light is very unreliable - it seems to work one day and not at all the next. The Zigbee connection to the button is very patchy with a lot of drop outs.
I do like the door sensor though, it tracks exactly what time the door was opened as well as when there was movement detected.

I was having intermittent drop outs with my sensors and power outlet. Try changing your wifi to a channel well away from 6. Changed mine to 2 and 10 and havent had a drop out since.

      • I’ll have to try that wifi tip because mine does the same.

    • Sadly Zigbee runs in the same 2.4Ghz range as most wifi.
      https://www.metageek.com/training/resources/zigbee-wifi-coex…

Anyhow, check here: https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Xiaomi_Gateway_(Aqara) - for info on how to get into the 'secret' developer section of the app to then work out what channel is being used. In my case it's zigbee channel 11, so wifi channel 1 is not good for me.

Basically, work out what channel is being used, then you can avoid that (before you ask, as far as I know you can't change the Zigbee channel on the Xiaomi). Or you can simply change it to something other than what it is now, and cross your fingers. Or go to 5Ghz.

  • Wondering if anyone could tell me if this is hard to instal and what does it involve

    • It’s easy to install,if need wifi

But you need to have some Xiaomi smart home devices,
for example : if you have Xiaomi Air purifier,Yeelight,so you can connect with Human Body Sensor, when you back to home they will turn on.

Or if you have Dafang or Xiaofang you can connect with Window Door Sensor Set,when somebody open you door or window,Dafang will on and capture video etc.

But if you didn't have any Xiaomi smart home devices, the smart home security kit actually not too much use

if you are targeted get it here for cheaper tomorrow. Quick delivery and Au stock.

    • Its still cheaper with pull5

    • My god,i have order :(

  • +3

Cheaper on ebay from Melbourne, Gearbite supplier and no 6 week wait.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-5-in-1-Smart-Home-Securit… with pull5 (5%) = $71.25

LITB can do significantly cheaper than AU suppliers, no GST, relatively cheap exports (can ship cheaper than base australia post rate), so not sure why they would do a coupon thats more expensive than local.

  • Does it work with Google Home Mini?

    • No

    • If you use Homebridge on say a raspberrypi, then it bridges them and can be controlled via google mini/home Alexa etc

    • I can control mine through Google Home but you need additional software to do this. I use Home Assistant.

Waiting for xiaomi to release automatic roller blind motors. Anyone got other suggestions

    • +1

Me too! In the meantime, I've been half-considering the motorised roller blinds from spotlight which are remote controlled. With a Broadlink RM3 transmitter, it could also theoretically do the job, plus can be controlled via Google Home too :)

    • Not a roller blind motor but they have this smart curtain motor

  • No deals for the various sensors huh

  • +1

Using these with Homebridge to work with everything else I have that's smart. Awesome stuff.

This is definitely pricier than I last remembered it though…
