What's the cheapest item to redeem this deal?

    • +1

An item that costs exactly $2.

      • +5

        Isn't it x10 Flybuys points?

        i.e. $0.20 x10 = $2 => 1 Flybuys point

and you need to accumulate to 2,000 points to redeem $10 on the Flybuys, therefore you need to spend $400 in order to redeem, or the Flybuys points will sit in your account.

  • Aa always, excluded "Cars, Bikes, Boats Tickets, Travel"
    :(

  • Thanks. Not so much for the 10x points deal but because now i have finally got my accounts linked due to your post. The signups are limited in number so I've always missed out.

I find Flybuys points to be useless, but i can always get gift vouchers and onsell them. I'm yet to try buying eBay gift cards and seeing if they are redeemable in conjunction with 10% of sitewide coupons, but you can only use one eBay gift cards per transaction and you lose the balance!

    • +2

Why are flybuys points useless - we've accumulated several thousand and when we shop at coles we have been getting $10 off every shop for months now.

This works even better when you're buying discounted items

e.g. items would normally cost $50, but after discount cost $30 and then with $10 off, cost $20..

Also, you don't lose the balance off an ebay gift card (FFS, why on earth would you think that??). It sits on the card and you can use it on the next transaction. Source - I've done this multiple times buying off ebay and paying with a mixture of cards and paypal.

      • As written earlier, to cumulate $10 worth of points, you'll need to spend $400,do you do that on your weekly shop? Not trying to be a dick, really curious on how or what to do with the points. I have a flybuys for 3 years and never did anything with the points till now as @justtoreply

        • Not true, I'm targeted weekly for $140 spend = 2000 points, I've earned 25000 in the last 2 months which is handy when converted into velocity, at least 10,000 when you take into account the current 20% bonus promotion. You can easily earn a one way business class ticket to Europe every year from just flybys:)

        • @radem12: its pretty meh; like I do the extra points when I can and get a liquor docket deal with the occassional $10.

        • Convert to velocity points during promos (current is 20% bonus), use points for free business class flights overseas.

      • Did they fix up the Ebay vouchers?

  • Is there a limit of maximum bonus points? Can't see any

  • What are the greatest benefits with flybuys?

    • +1

      I'd said set-and-forget.

Once you link your flybuys account to eBay account, you don't need to click through certain website in order to collect rewards points. And you can double dip, i.e. you still can use other click-through cashback site.

    • $10 off your coles shop for 2,000 points is handy.

      • +1

I remember they used to have expire day, likely 3 years…. I lost the points before I can save up $20 gift cards, and since then they change the rule, after 3 years of collecting it, finally reach a one-off $50, not really sure if that worth the hassles for scanning the card on every transaction.

In term: Keep waving card at counter/scanner on each check out for the past 3 years get you $50.

        • They no longer expire unless you don't use or accumulate any points for 12 months.

I just checked my account, and I somehow had several services linked. I have a few hundred dollars of FlyBuys points sitting there that I didn't even know existed. Win.

  • You get really good flybuys to Velocity transfer offers.

    • And you can also earn some status credits - and given that there's very imited opportunities otherwise (i.e you have to fly to earn them) it can help with getting over the line with earning airline status.

Even just making Silver with VA gets you a free bag on international flights.

      • I just made it to silver thanks to Flybuys, you get 2 complimentry Lounge passes. I dont know how to redeem them though. Can you sell them too?

  • So that means $1000 spend to max out the 5000 points
    $2 for 1 point time x10

  • flybuys only good for veloicity points transfers thats about it.

  • I use my Flybuys got get $10 off groceries. They used to add up very quickly when they gave out coupons for triple points or bonus point. If you have insurance with Coles, you can get points from that too. I think so far we've a couple of hundred.

    • I keep getting promos for spend $1XX get 3000 points which is really nice haha

  • How do you activate it? Does everyone who has flybuys get it automatically and if you make multiple transactions it gives it to the one with the highest spend?

Or is it only people who just linked their cards that get it?

    • Think you have to link it manually. I got an email from them and just did it.

  • I've used flybuys to get $20 off at K-mart and Target. It can help with purchases. There's a few stores you can get discounts from. Just need to make sure you time your shop with the 1000/2000 bonus points offers when you spend over say $120 at Coles. Plus if you're with AGL you get flybuys points every bill you pay

    • at k-mart you get free shipping for $100 so if you need stuff, you can spend $80 for every $100 and get free shipping.

  • Am I the only one finding the amount of personal info being asked by flybuys to be disturbing? I mean, they want my date of birth, address, phone number, and what not?! I first thought of letting this one pass, but then I figured I'll register with all kinds of fake information, because why not.

    • DOB probably required for reediming products only eligible for adults

Just made a $4500 purchase, hope the points apply!

  • Its all over everyones eBay home page.
You gotta be BLIND Freddie not to see this

  • Is my math correct? Spend $1k get 5000 points (worth $25 in $10 vouchers)? No point spending more than 1k as the cap is 5000 points before bonus?

  • did anyone received the bonus points? I just checked my account and only received 1408 flybuy points after spending $2816? shouldnt it be 28160 points? can anyone confirm it worked for them?

    • It's only 1 point per $2 maybe the bonus delayed.
      Max is 25k

    • +2

Bonus Points will be credited to your flybuys account within 30 days.

  • This is a great time to combine offers! 20% off storewide on ebay combines with this.
Also, for the point stackers out there make sure you sign into your velocity estore ebay link so you can get velocity points and flybuys points. Pay with your rewards credit card get 3 lots of points!

  • T&C number 5 says:

This offer is limited to 1 transaction per person, on your first Eligible Item purchase during the Offer Period when you check out with PayPal or a credit card. Multiple Eligible Items may be purchased in one transaction.

Does that mean if paying by ebay gift card, no 10x points eligible?

    • +2

While I can't say for certain, I think that payment by eBay gift cards will count as a PayPal transaction and you should therefore be eligible for the bonus points.

I recently made a purchase and paid in full with eBay gift cards, and my order confirmation says 'Paid with PayPal'.

  • Made a purchase of $534.87 on 8th May.
I seem to have received the following Flybuys points:
9th May 267 points labelled as 'Ebay' (which is 1 point per $2)
15th May 2403 points labelled as 'Ebay Bonus Points' (which works out to 4.5 points per $1)????

Anyone else receive something strange like for the bonus as opposed to 10 points per $1?

    • +1

      Looks perfect to me :)

The offer is for 10x points.

Normally you would receive 267 points on a $534 transaction (1 point per $2).

You have also received 2403 bonus points (9 points per $2).

You have received a total of 2,670 points (267+2403) which is 10x the normal amount of points (10 points per $2).

      • +1

ahhh got it!!! its 10 x the normal offer of points.

        I think i wanted to read 10 x per $

        thanks for clarifying :)
