  • I don’t care what sort of car it is, as long as it works, $10.73 a day is almost worth not having a car if you can get it easily

  • Manual or automatic?

    • Correct.

    • tomorrow

    • We're providing both manual and automatic car types. You can choose the transmission type by clicking Automatic or Manual buttons on the
      left side of our page:P

  • Question: what happens if you have basic cover and you’re at fault in a collision? Are you insured or do you have to pay the costs of replacing/repairing leased vehicle.

    • Rental excess insurance - standalone or included in your travel insurance is a must these days. So many stories of people getting shafted after they've dropped off the car. Money well spent.

    • Normal car-rental. You have a very large excess, maybe $5000. This can be covered by travel insurance.

But sometimes you can be liable for much more, e.g. overhead damage, underside damage, breached rules of hire, …

    • Hi Kelza, thank you for your question. It depends on what kind of damage you made and what kind of car package you chose.
Some of the damages are covered by the insurance while some are not.
In general, you would be charged the amount which over the excess.
Please share the link if you're interested in any car rental package then we would check it for you:P

  • Pretty sure excess cover will be crazy expensive

    • I buy travel insurance which covers excess for car rentals around 4-5000, much cheaper than gettig the extra cover from car rental company

      • Sounds good in theory, doesn't always work out as you'd like it (depending on insurer.) Sorry I can't give more details as it wasn't me.

  • +1

ozbargain tell me if this idea is flawed? 10.73 a day for 365 days = $3916.45
Provided I dont crash it and be up for an excess of over $4000. Would it be feasible to uber the car daily and turn over a profit? Could I get my own insurer to insure me in a rental car for the year? Is there a clause in the rental that would prevent ride sharing?

    • Lowest rate plans have limited km.

Is there a clause in the rental that would prevent ride sharing?

It would certainly negate their insurance, leaving you liable for full damage.

    • Pretty sure uber requires you to own the car.

  • +2

Looks like a lot of the cars are "carhood" which people rent out their car while they're away on holidays.

That said, there is a Mazda 3 with full protection (i.e. $0 damage excesses) for $35 a day… thats pretty good in my eyes

It looks like the "super protection" is their own insurer providing a policy for excess payment if you have a crash (i.e. you will get charged the excess, but their insurer will refund you) + some theft personal belongings cover etc..

  • Trying to use this site to book a car in Perth with Thrifty or Alamo or Enterprise (I can walk to these easily from Work) but only options I have are for Hertz or Firefly or Europcar, which are over the other side of the city.

Is there any way to force it to search Thrifty?

… sorry, that did not work.
And they seem to have limited locations. I see Thrifty for airport, but not the city.
Once your results include thrifty, you can tick the box on the left to narrow it to them only.

I tried putting in the address for thrifty perth, and got: "Sorry, no results were found for your search."

      • Hi Manic, thank you for the link.
It may appear with no inventory when you got a result without Thrifty. Please try on another dates or book with another supplier.
Besides, we're sorry that city + supplier can't be the keywords when searching but you can search with City Landmarks or Train Stations for your destinations on www.easyrentcars.com. This will be a way of our improvement. Many thanks:)

    • Please click at https://en.easyrentcars.com/thrifty-car-hire and then choose your destinations with the selection box e.g. Oceania then click Perth, WA or input your destinations directly.
Here's one of the search results for you: https://www.easyrentcars.com/carsearch?dealer=39&rent=total&…
It may appear with no inventory when you got a result without Thrifty. Please try on another dates or book with another supplier.
Feel free to contact us if there are further questions:P

  • Or support local business by going to www.carhire.global
Compare all car hire prices and save, depending on location , time etc , cars from $7 a day
    Thanks all

    • That website sucked, I tried it. They aren't up to date with what is and isn't available at all car hire mobs they show on the site. I found better Australian sites to book through and got equivalent prices overall with some bargain hacking.

      • Hi Bamboozle, thank you for your review. Actually, there are lots of vehicles are available while some vehicles need some time to confirm the inventory of them. You can click the Instant Confirmation button on left side of the search result page and you will get the instant confirmed cars which are all available for you.Have a nice day!:P

    • Very expensive compared to EasyRentCars…

  • Wow! This website is incredible. Europcar from TSV Airport is $429.68 from VroomVroomVroom vs $240.28 from EasyRentCars.

    I'm blown away!!

  • Thank you so much for your great review.
You're always welcome to book with EasyRentCars.
Feel free to contact us if there is a further question.
    Have a nice day!
