      The design is supposed to be similar to each console, but performance-wise, nothing. I've already been using a regular Seagate 2TB portable HDD for months and it's been fine, no performance issues.

        i cracked open my xbox one to put a larger internal drive in it …..
        the 500GB that was inside was a 2.5” seagate “video” drive ….wasnt std barracuda ….so. not sure if microsoft have a spec based on the useage their console drives do when selecting drives ……

          Was that easy enough to do? And was there much to reinstalling the OS etc on the new drive? I thought about it but just went with an external HDD for it to be safe (and good thing too because the console crashed a few months later and was replaced under warranty). For my PS4 though, I replaced the internal with a 2TB seeing as Sony makes it very easy to do.

    This disk from amazon listed is not the same as the one linked at officeworks/jbhifi/officeworks, this one is the thick full sized version, not the thin and newer version. It also has a very high failure rate, you can read the reviews at the us amazon site.
