    • Bibimbap (Korean pronunciation: [pibimbap]) is a popular Korean dish. The word literally means "mixed meal." Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste). A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating. It can be served either cold or hot.

      • Thats it - simply plain rice, some vegetables and abit of beef, with chilli paste. $16.90 sounds way too pricey for one dish. Deal is ok, not exactly a bargain. I usually see this dish around Sydney ranging from $8- $11.

        • I know you can get it from $8 in the Chatswood Mandarin center food court which is in a plastic bowl. I give that a 2/10.

You won't find bibimbab in at hot stone pot at this quality for less than $10 in a restaurant in Chatswood.

And I have to say this one tastes quite good and I am a picky eater. So this bibimbab for $8.45 in Chatswood is a bargain. I give it 8/10 at Soban.

  • I think this is the level 6 restaurant. I passed by the ground level restaurant today. That one is closed for renovation and the sign says reopening in Jan. Don't know if the voucher is valid there or if that will be open in time. So don't get the restaurants mixed up.

    • Yes, it is Shop 602, Level 6 (Hoyts Cinema Level) in Westfield Chatswood.

      • You sound like a rep or someone who loves their Korean crusine

        • Honestly I have only been there 3 times all up.
It was better than what I anticipated and overall happy with what I was served.

  • I've been here. Yeah it was alright for the $17, although you get way better bang for buck in Brissy. Then again, I myself only eat Bibimbap prepared by nubile virgins with PhDs in Korean culture on top of the highest peaks on the eve of a lunar eclipse.
