    • +2

What did the page say when you tried entering your details?

  • Why is Bondi always included in the DJs Vivid offers? Is there even anything Vivid-related happening there?

  • Now there's two for David Jones, how does that work?

    • +3

One’s in store only, one’s online only. That’s how it works

  • Never tried before but the opal reader at Ferry terminals can read credit cards? Ouww..never know this

    • You can always extend them for another three years if you don't end up using them. Half Yearly Clearance starts next month if that helps.

      • How do you extend them?

        • +1

Ask Customer Services when the gift card has expired

        • @kerfuffle: online or in store?

        • +5

@bashar20: In store. Only requirement is that it has more than $5 on it in order to extend it

        • +1

@kerfuffle: Nice to know this works. Thank you!

        • @kerfuffle: I believe this is just NSW only due to the new state based law…in case the other person is in a diff state.

        • +2

@dammit: No, all DJs Customer Services across Australia can extend your expired gift card provided there is $5 or more on it.

    Mobile wallet

Thanks OP for saving me $150 on groceries

    • Did you get two different offers?

      • Yes,
$25 on my platinim and 2 supp cards.
$10 on my gold and 2 supp cards

        • I'm not sure what deal I got. It just says:

spend … via Apple Pay … to receive 50% credit each time, up to a maximum of $25 back.

        • -1

          @sween64:

Yes so spend 50 on groceries at woolworths and you will get 25 back

        • @easternculture: Once only or multiple times?

        • -1

          @sween64:

You would get Max 25 dolla discount

        • @easternculture: Do I spend $50 once or $10 five times?

  • Annoying. The app doesn't actually mention the $10, $5 back part of the mobile wallets offer. The way I read it, the offer was unlimited.

  • Missed all the mobile payments and don't live in Sydney :S

  • Has anyone tried to redeem these "in store payment only" offers by ordering over the phone for delivery at David Jones?
    If so, did it work?
Not sure if Amex can tell whether you are physically in store versus the sales assistant putting payment through your card with you on the phone.

    • No experience, but I'm sure they can tell whether something is done by their call centre/customer service centre/head office/whoever does phone orders or a store. How that processes for the offer is, of course, a mystery.

  • Does DJ offer stack with mobile 50% off wallet offer

    • Usually offers like that do stack.

  • Am I reading correctly? The targeted "Get 50% back, up to $25" offer can be used an unlimited number of times until 21st of June?

    • +1

up to a maximum of $25 back

you can use unlimited times but only get $25 back

      • +1

Yep, I got the maximum of $25 back bit.

Wow, this offer is pretty amazing then! Thanks for the confirmation!

    • Surely not…If that were the case, you could walk into a car dealership and pay for a car in $50 increments.

It might take a while and piss off the dealer, but hey, 50% off…

      • It's covered in their T&C:

        G. Fraud/Gaming/Glitches

American Express reserves the right to suspend or cancel the offer if any fraud or gaming by users, technical failure or any other factors outside our control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the offer which may result in any loss or damage to American Express. We will try to give you reasonable
notice of any such incident and take reasonable steps to ensure you are not unfairly impacted if the
incident is due to something we have done or failed to do.

American Express reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual suspected of fraud, gaming the offer or any breach of the Offer Terms.

    • I don't think it's unlimited. I think due to the nature of different deals for different cards some are very confusing. Just like mine. If you go to Offer Terms it says:

offer is limited to a maximum of $25 credit per card

Edit: I only expect to receive $25 credit, I'm just not sure if I have to spend $50 in one transaction or five lots of $10.

  • How to use Apply Pay for online and app purchase? I thought Apply Pay is only for physical in-store payment.

and from my understanding reading from the T&Cs, it is the same as spending $50 (even in a single transaction) and getting $25 back each card. Am I correct?

    • +1

How to use Apply Pay for online and app purchase?

No, it is available for in-app purchase too, for e.g. Apple Store app.

it is the same as spending $50

The way I read it, it's $5 max cash back per transaction with $25 limit per card.

  • Can I use Apply Pay to buy Woolworths gift cards? Am I still eligible for the offer?

    • Yes. Eligible if it's in your offers and saved to your card.

  • Tooo bad.. I am not having this MOBILE WALLET offer on any of my cards

  • I just got most of Mobile Wallet offers on Platinum Edge cards, not on Explorer, Velocity or Qantas cards.

  • Anyone received confirmation email after the spend for Mobile Wallets offer “ spend $10, get $5 back up to 5 times” ?

    • Me, this morning in Coles.

      • THanks. I didn’t, a bit worried.

  • Can we save offer to main card and supp card and use it twice? Or can be used only once considering it is actually just one Amex account/card after all?

    • Yes if they have different card number

  • Domino near my place doesn't accept Amex Apple Pay even though Amex claims that Domino's is one of the merchants

    https://www.americanexpress.com/au/content/credit-cards/mana…

    • +1

Happened to me during previous Shop Small promotion.

If you kept your receipt, you can call Amex up and report it. They will/might credit you back the amount spent.

  • how do you use mobile wallet to pay for a woolies e gift card or it cant be done?

  • Guys the david jones, spend $50 get $10 back - can I use this to buy a gift card?

    • I've tried purchasing a $50 gift card on the weekend. We'll see if I get the $10 credit back. So far, none :( Anyone tried it and successfully got the $10 credit?

      • Did you buy your Gift Card at the David Jones stores listed as participating in the offer?

Edit: seeing that you're in Victoria and most likely purchased from a Victorian store, I'm going to guess no.

  • I am a bit confused with the spend $10 get $5 credit. My understanding is that we have to spend at least $10 per transaction and get $5 credit, regardless how much we spend in that transaction. I spent $30 in one transactiin and get $15 credit. Hmm, no complain, but just different from my understanding. Anybody else in the same boat?

    • Anybody else in the same boat?

Yep, I had the same understanding as yours but ended up getting $25 back in two transactions as I spend $28 and $32 in two separate Apple Pay transactions.

      • Obviously their system must be confused with the other 50% cashback offer.

  • Wife just used Amex at Chatswood Chase and no Amex email received. I used mine at end of May at Elizabeth St and received email and credit. Just wondering if anyone else had same issue with Chatswood Chase. I can't remember if it was one of the included DJs last year.

    • Chatswood Chase counts as a participating store. Your wife did register for the offer/spent minimum $50, right?

      • Yes - shows up in her 'saved to card' offers

        • Guess you just gotta wait for the credit to hopefully show up, then

        • @kerfuffle: Agree its a waiting game now. Always received the Amex credit when the email has been received when spending on an offer. However it is a mixed bag when it hasn't - 50/50 at best.

        • +1

@SydneySwan: Credit turned up. When the purchase was pending the store just shows as 'David Jones'. Now that it is confirmed the store shows as 'David Jones Chatswood C Chatswood' and the credit as 'David Jones Chatswood Chase'.

  • -1

With the Mobile Wallets offer, if I had my AMEX already registered with Apple Pay before the offer, do I have to de-register and re-register?

  • Hey guys, just bought a $50 GC at the Sydney city David Jones, but no confirmation email. Can anyone confirm they received credit for GC purchases?

    • +1

      Yes

      • Thanks for confirming kerfuffle. Looks like I'll just have to wait for the credit :)
