  • Tempting but I'll stick with my Polk.

  • Awesome deal! I want two but they don't post to NSW regional.

    • Last time I ordered from Bing Lee on ebay, I selected a random Sydney store, then once it came in got them to transfer the item to Bing Lee Albury. I had a colleague visit Albury and got them to collect it for me. It was a pain but a massive bargain. I live 2.5 hrs from Albury store.

    • Stereo surround!

  • For potential buyers: only one input is HDCP 2.2 (4K, HDR etc), it's not Dolby Vision, and doesn't support any DTS:X variants.

My TV was about this much…

    • my car was about this much..

  • How's this compare to a Sonos playbase/playbar?

    • Need to know this too.. to be precised compared to Sonos Playbar/playbase + subwoofer…
I’m aware playbar + sub price is more than double than this, but just curious if this Yamaha can be par with them??

I bought the Sonos playbar originally but returned it (thanks JB Hi-Fi you were all good about it!) for the Yamaha YSP-2700. The main reason was the lack of HDMI & specifically HDMI ARC. That was a show stopper for me — I really didn't wanna mess with an HDMI/optical "switch". You can Google the gazillion threads from Sonos playbar owners trying to overcome this.

The YSP-2700 does the job in my shoe box Sydney apartment & at a reasonable price point too. Spotify streaming also works seamlessly as does the HDMI ARC port so I literally don't have to touch the YSP-2700's remote pretty much ever. The inputs just switch automatically & the YSP-2700 also comes on/off automatically along with the TV (via the TVs remote when powering on/off).

        Hope that helps!

  • Ah man I paid $1199 including delivery from Todds Hi Fi 18 months ago & that was a good price back then — oh well :(

You can't really complain about a price drop 18 months after your original purchase

I have this soundbar and it's excellent. Great Spotify integration, plus Airplay. Produces awesome sound.

  • Bought this almost a year ago for just under $1100 delivered, if you’re in he market for a sound bar grab this - you won’t be disappointed. I don’t have it setup in the ideal room to get the surround sound effect but have heard good things. Bass is nice and punchy, voice crystal clear - couldn’t really ask for more out of a sound bar

    • I don’t have it setup in the ideal room

My main TV room has the TV against a brick wall, the other 3 walls are glass (curtains on the left only.) I always wonder if these kind of speakers would work well for me…

      have heard good things.

I hear what you did there.

  • Purchased. Now to offload a pretty good 5.1 system.

  • This is a bargain for sure, I haven’t seen it below $999

  • I would rather get a Dolby Atmos soundbar for a bit more

  • I thought Yamaha had updated the YSP-2700 firmware for Dolby Atmos?
    Does it pass through HDR?

    • You're getting confused with Dolby Vision, which it now supports - as well as HDR10.

This will never support Atmos or DTS:X - you need the 5600 for that - but it supports pretty much every other format.
