    thanks, will try this out

  • I dont shave that often as under my neck rashes when i do

Would this shaving cream help? I currently using Nivea sensitive cream

    • I'm in the same boat as you, neck rash if I shave too often, I use the "Green" one in this brand which has from memory "Cooling Menthol" and I can comfortably shave twice a week using it which is fine for me as my facial hair doesn't grow that fast.

    • Do you use Nivea Aftershave Balm after shaving? I used to get ingrown hairs and stuff all the time and found the balm was actually more important than what shaving cream.

This stuff is alright, its low foaming, so it gives a relatively close and slick shave - However I do find that it seems to soak a bit into my skin so you have to shave fast.

      • I found that aftershave balm did nothing for me, at 35 i'm past the age of having to worry about pimples so I just use a standard moisturiser on my face after every shave, my current is just the I think it's Aveeno brand, standard moisturiser.

    • I bought this 2 weeks ago when it was half price last time and it didn't help my neck rash.

The shave oil might - it did for me. My problem is the neck hair grown in whorls so with shaving cream it's hard to see what's going on. The oil is clear so it's easy to see what's going on and the shave for the rest of my face is better too.

I put Nivea creme on after the shave if I rush and so a bad job

      • I second the oil. The blades last forever too thanks to the oil.

Why is everyone so keen on this product?

Bought it when it was half price last time because of the hype and it gives a terrible shave… I generally use Gillette/Nivea shaving cream/gel and they give a great shave but are a problem when flying.

The king of shave sensitive (blue) doesn’t lubricate much at all, giving me rashes. In fact the $1-2 shave cream from Coles in a toothpaste tube works better, but the downside is it doesn’t smell great

    • Agreed
I bought this stuff about two weeks ago when it was on sale.
I have found it to be inferior to the Nivea shave gel I normally use.
It's not terrible - I'll keep using it until the tube is gone, but I don't understand why it gets such kudos.
I do shave in the shower so I don't know if that makes a difference - but I find this to be inferior to the Nivea gel.

    • L'Oreal Men Expert Shaving Gel is worth trying too..

Would this be good/glide well for shaving pubic hair? Serious question. I do pre-shave bush trimming with a body hair clipper to make it easier so my razor doesn't clog.

Go with the oil, lubrication down there always helps.

      • always ;)

  • any recommendations for after shaving lotion?!
I feel hurt nowadays as the weather getting cold.. Thanks!

    • You can find aftershaves with alcool or alcool free. Once you decide wich one you want it’s just about picking your favourite scent. Alcool free are usually lighter in smell and come in a creamy texture as opposed to so called ‘splash” (with alcool) kind. I usually buy Nivea no alcool when it’s half price at Woolies.

      • Yep. I agree. The Nivea sensitive is the best aftershave for sensitive skin. Doesn't sting at all

  • I don't get why anyone uses oils/gels these days. I use coles brand disposables in a hot shower with on cream/oil. If you don't rush it, everything turns out fine. I shave my face 5 Mon-Fri due to customer facing job.

    • What does it have to do with 'these days'? It's always been like that. Oil/ gel/ cream provides - 1) Lubrication (hence easy/ clean shave) and 2) Moisturizer (hence no dry skin afterwards). Disposable razor without any of these will surely do the job but won't be as smooth and painless experience. Also, the shave may not be as close as in the case otherwise.

What's the point anyway unless someone prefers minimalist lifestyle (why even shave everyday in that case though)? It's not expensive either.
