Mechpro Brake Cleaner 400g Aerosol Can 4 for $10 @ Repco

200

Four 400g aerosol cans of brake cleaner for $10 at Repco until 27 May.

outlander had previously explained how brake cleaner is useful. The following is what he wrote. Here is a YouTube video that shows brake cleaner eating used engine oil for snacks, and here is someone recommending it for cleaning computer boards.

For those who don't know, brake cleaner, despite having a very specific name, is actually a multipurpose product. It is generally made up of alcohol and petroleum products with low boiling points. This means you spray it, it carries away the dirt and grease, and then it evaporates. Can be used on just about anything. The guy at the auto store told me he even uses it to clean carpet stains.

  • Can i use to wash the car? Cheaper than heavy duty liquid soap. Thanks OP

    • It degrades the top clear coat, and plastic and rubber parts.

  • Some interesting comments underneath in the youtube video. Not saying I wouldn't use it. I'm one of those who try anything. For example, I'm not mechanic but we used to use brake cleaner is the old fashion carbys. Not sure whether it did anything but created lots of smoke (fun). hahaha

  • In the Repco catalogue

CTEK 7.0 amp battery charger 1/2 price $179

You can get these from numerous retailers, and Ebay before coupons for the same price or even a couple of dollars less such as autoelec.com.au for $170 every day price.

CTEK 12.0 amp battery charger $279 save $194

This can be purchased for $242 from autoelec.com.au and in the $240 range from several other retailers as every day price.

So their claims of half price, and save $194 are misleading. Pays to shop around with repco.

  • Any idea that this can be safely used on alloy wheels to clean break dust?
