Was looking at a replacement data plan for my iPad and came across this awesome deal on Shopback that ends 22/05.

Vodafone $50 Starter Data SIM for $25, which includes 35GB of data for use in OZ with an expiry of 180 days. And if you click through using the link on Shopback, you could get $22 cashback, effectively paying $3 for 35GB of data.

Notes:
- Make sure you click Shopback link to activate these Cashback.
- Both postpaid and prepaid cards - Activate the SIM card within 30 days of purchase.
- Prepaid cards - Have SIM remain active for 60 days after activation (unless expiration date is otherwise stated by Vodafone).

    Got this deal when it was $8, had activation issues, speeds barely get over 20-30 down and 2 up. If the intention was to win customers over it’s not working. My Telstra SIM in the same device gets 320/50. I’m assuming their capping this service? Handy for a spare iPad I have but can be slow, can’t complain at this price.

        Yeah im 2km from the CBD, def had 4G, tried several locations, even different devices get same results.

      Same coming from Optus - 20/3 on Vodafone from 140/45 on Optus.

      I was impressed by their domestic roaming feature though - it'd roam onto Optus/Telstra 3G free of charge if there was no Vodafone reception. Not good for data sim, but be great for mobile sims..

    Received an email from Shopback that my purchase is confirmed. Logging into Shopback my account, the status is "Pending" and expecting confirmation by 19 August?? Will I have to wait for that long for my Cashback?

      If you read the tc you need to activate within 30 days and keep active for 60 which is 90 days.

        Does it mean that it is enough just not to cancel the service with Vodafone or the SIM card must be in a device for 60 days connected with their network? Also why would one want to cancel it if it is one off payment?

        Obviously I don't need to put the sim on a daily exercise plan, was just wondering, if it sits in a drawer for 30 days after I've depleted the data in say 30 days, will I lose my cashback or does it need to stay connected to their network or something?

      Around 15 minutes after ordering for me. Shopback click history says it can take 2 days so it should still be fine.

        yes, skip but you must choose the Data Only option otherwise you'll end up a different plan. Vodafone's process is quite broken. Having a hard time setting up myvodafone.

        I though they need the order number to track for cash back? Can OP confirm this?
        As I need to use the data urgently so I just skipped that step like you said above and selected “tablet data only” but in my account only show 10GB without bonus 25GB.

          Your Shopback Cashback Activity should have Vodafone's order number on it. Edit: Hopefully Voda would be able to confirm that you've activated that SIM under that order even if you didn't input it during activation. Need confirmation as well.

          I'm not sure why you don't have the bonus 25GB data. You may want to contact them.

      In one of the comments, it says must be activated 90 days from the end of the calendar month the sim card is bought. So if bought in early May, it should be 90 days from 31st May, i.e last day of activation is 29 August, is this correct?
