      Cheapest elsewhere is $135.

Cheapest i can find are all in excess to this. Buy from local shop without waiting? I consider that an advantage.

        • +3

Lol. My fat finger. Posting on the phone is not the best way to do this. Also I should have proofread before I hit that post comment button. Thanks JV for the quality control.

          1. Summarise briefly why you keep asking why a deal is a bargain, when it's obvious that at least 100 people believe it is?
        • -7

          @sandman87:

at least 100 people believe it is?

          out of 3,350…

roughly 3% of people reading this believe it…

          Hardly a bargain…

        • +7

          @jv:

Looking at your most recent 'bargain'… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/310098

Roughly 100 votes out of 3000. By your own definition, hardly a bargain.

        • -1

          @Chroma:

By your own definition, hardly a bargain.

You didn't link to a bargain, you linked to a freebie…

(Also, that had a 25% higher +ve vote than this deal…)

        • @sandman87:
JV makes a good point. It's fine for the 100 people who already knew the value, but for the rest of us, we need to know why it's a bargain.
The OP has obviously already done the research or wouldn't be posting, so it's simple efficiency to post the reason rather than make each of us investigate for ourselves.

  • +4

Thanks, had been chasing one for some time, but the price jumped up, good to get at this price!

    • +3

Seconded. Been waiting/hoping for < $100. Thanks OP.

  • +26

Thanks for the post, OP! I appreciate you taking the time to post up the deal and encourage you to keep them coming. No need to take notice of negative comments in this place, hard to take them seriously when they themselves haven’t posted a deal in quite some time

  • +2

Great deal! just bought - on my way to pickup now :D

Edit: just picked up my online order from parramatta - one left on the shelves. $99.50 price sticker advertised.

    • +2

Worth paying a bit extra to get the smooth 4 model

  • +2

Going in to pick mine up now!

  • Lowest price ever? Bought mine at $130 and didn’t think it would go any lower, this is a bargain

  • +1

Thanks OP! Been waiting for this.

  • +3

The TP-Link Smart WiFi socket outlet us a good deal at under $30

I've tried the cheap Chinese versions but none are as good as these

  • Could a goPro fit in one of these? Or is it just for phones only?

    • You can buy an adapter for GoPro or even use one without an adapter. Just look up how on Youtube

    • +2

I'd be highly doubtful, it doesn't really support heavier weights too well either. It struggled a bit with my pixel xl2 so I end up selling mine.

      • So you wouldn't recommend it with the Pixel 2 XL ?

    • Go pro should be fine? Typically the motors in these are rated to do 150grams, although at the full weight it would feel a bit sluggish. Gopros are the same weight as many phones, it will be fine.

    • +3

LOL @ minus votes forming. I hope you don't get banned

    • Maybe you should start a forum topic about - feel free to include information about how you had a car accident and didn’t have insurance.

      • i thought forums were for people buying high yield investments…?

    • Steady on there, Old Chap! This is JV you’re talking about…

  • Thanks OP! Been keep for one for a while. Also don't forget Cash Rewards!

  • +2

Thanks OP. Had absolutely zero plans to get a gimbal but bought anyway.

  • Great price, I've got one of these, love it.
Modded to mount my Canon G7Xmk2, absolute ripper unit.

The Android app has less features than iOS so I'm told, but I've happy with it, you can modify how quickly it pans and tilts on follow mode, and can setup auto panorama pan and can remotely control all hardware buttons from the app.

If you're on the fence of this over a DJI or something else, grab this, it's excellent.

    • +1

The Zhiyun tracking app sucks :p

If you must have tracking, get the Osmo. If you just want a mechanical gimbal, the Zhiyun range are fantastica. The Smooth q is the best value, the smooth 3 has a higher payload (up to 260g) and the smooth 4 has some nifty features (zoom wheel, sports/turbo mode).

      • I haven't used the tracking features, as use it with my Camera not phone, so can't utilise those features.

My opinion is based on mechanical side, and reproducing the controls found on the gimbal via the app.

  • Got one too thanks

  • Thanks op! Got one from chatswood, 2 left on the shelves!

  • Standard shipping is free for orders over $70 btw!

  • +1

I have the gimbal. An S8+ with a case can be a bit too heavy for the motors to handle. Tried it with an S8, and had no issues. Also, if you want to use the shutter controls, then u have to use their specific camera app which is not the most refined camera app. Still, a good gimbal for the price.

    • exactly the feedback i was after. thanks, you saved me $99!

  • where can I see it in use or what sort of work can be done with this gimbal? any links that shows what can be done or achieved with this stuff.

    • +1

This gimbal will pretty much eliminate all hand shake, and is pretty decent at eliminating camera movement whilst you are walking. You can use it whilst running with some practice. These mobile phone gimbals however cannot completely compensate for the up down motion when running though it does an OK job - the results go from nauseating (without a gimbal)to usable and only very mildly distracting (with the gimbal). This is the weakest 3-axis gimbal (and doesn't fully rotate on all axis - which is standard for all gimbals for mobile phones, including the DJI osmo 1 and 2) so do keep that in mind.

There are heaps of footage on YT - here is one with the Smooth Q vs Osmo 2 when running.

The Smooth q is fantastic for its price, though the Smooth 4 and Osmo 2 are now encroaching on the smooth q territory in terms of pricing, and the smooth q 2 is being developed.

They are also excellent for smoother pans. The newer Smooth 4 has a zoom wheel which allows you to approximate a vertigo shot (walking back whilst zooming in).

    • You can do your research on pr0nhub

      • I mean, probably for the up close shots?
The pros probably use camera dollies on DSLR or videocameras to keep the shots as still as possible.

    • +1

      Hey Sajidmib,

I use it for all my videos on Youtube matey; here's my most recent examples using this Gimbal with an S8:

Legend!! Thanks OP and thanks engineeringprof for the code. $89.55 free shipping to my workplace and 5.20% Cashback. Best price for this Gimbal out there across the globe for sure. Ordered a pair for me and the wifey ;-)

    • thanks mate, just ordered one

OP you should add to post

    • +1. Damn, where was this an hour ago?
Oh well, still saved ~$30 over the standard price.

    • The YAYME10 is 10% off, and works on the dimmable light.

      EB has it cheaper

  • if it will struggle with an s8+, is an iphone 7 plus too heavy for this then?

    • I'd say yes. The arm had to been extended to full, to just fit my s8+

    • You just have to balance it a bit. Have a look at YT.

I mount an RX100 m3 (weights 297g) on mine with the 3d printed kit from this guy and it works perfectly fine.

  • It's been dispatched!

  • Out of stock

  • Weren't these like $80-$90 on ozbargain for ages from Gearbest and stuff? Or is this an updated model?

Ordered one for S8+ hopefully it works

    • If you don't use a case, then should be ok-ish

    • +1

Edit: Just had a look nope they were $120-$140

      $89 great price!

  • Good deal!

SmoothQ Jet Black Gimbal for Smartphones

    I just missed out.

    Out of stock!

  • -1

Was keen, but that Shop Rating/review looks terrible. I'm staying away.

  • Will Note8 be too heavy?

    • never mind, there is no stock to be seen near Brisbane (unless I am doing something wrong).

  • Smooth Q gimbal seemed to be in stock for me, and the discount code worked. Thanks OP, great price.

    • lies

edit: I think I might have slipped an order through too. Have to wait and see because its back to OOS. these are the same clowns who took my money for the Pi 3 and then cancelled it

  • Out of stock :(

  • It was OOS and now back in stock. Just ordered one. Thanks OP!

  • Ordered! Will it work with s9+? Getting worried, didnt read comments about s8+ weight issues..

  • OoS again

  • Back in stock? Just purchased the gimbal without issue.

  • +1

For those who see it as out of stock. Try buying it via the search results. It shows up as available when you search for Zhiyun
    https://shop.australiangeographic.com.au/catalogsearch/resul…

most likely we're all going to get cancelled and refunded but thats the fun of ozbargaining

    • Thanks that worked!

    • doesnt work for me

  • Good price on the Smooth Q. It does a good job when it works though except for calibration I don't use their app at all.
Local warranty would be very useful as battery in these units likely to fail in less then a year and a pain to fix. Mine lasted about 4 months.

  • Back in stock
    Edit never mind gone

  • +1

I wouldn't be so quick with the positive votes when it's likely all the orders will be cancelled like the last deals from the useless Co-op group.

  • Is this use Bluetooth or headphone jack? Is it support usb type c?

  • out of stock now

  • +1

Yeah. Not even going to bother with this after the Google Home fiasco with Nat Geo.

  • lame as co-op shop rang to say that they're out of stock even though my order was placed as soon as this deal was posted. Never again with this mob as this is worst than price jacking!!

    • expecting the same as mine hasn't shipped

    • Maybe you will atleast get to keep your cashback.

  • Ordered mine before the out of stock issue arose (ie. as soon as it was listed on OZBargain). Just got an email confirming refund due to insufficient stock levels. BOOOO!!! :(

    • My order went through at 3:25, haven't received an email yet but by the sounds of it I'm not holding my breath. If it doesn't I might just get the version 4.

    • I placed my order at 3:18PM (AEST), received email at 3:45PM (AEST) with confirmation and tracking number.

FYI, im in Perth and it seems like stock was dispatched from a local store.

      • I received a confirmation invoice email at 3:45 also. No tracking details provided. Ohwell I will leave it till tomorrow afternoon and call them.

  • +1

Just got a notification that a package from AG COCKBURN is on it's way from WA to me (I'm in Brisbane). The adult in me totally didn't laught at the sender. Honest XD

  • And there we got my order in at 3:12 that day.. and this morning receive my order is cancelled lol disappointing.

  • +1

Still no shipping email, but I contacted support and they replied within 5 minutes saying it had already been shipped and gave me the tracking number. Woohoo!

  • Just sent an email, apparently store assigned ran out of stock so they are ordering more to fulfill it. 2-3 weeks. We will see.

  • +1

Just rang up their support team and have confirmed that my order is being dispatched from a store in Tasmania. The kind lady told me that they had to spread the orders out and split them up due to the quantity received. I will be receiving my order come next Monday (Sydney CBD).

  • Got a refund email as item is deemed OOS.

  • Mine got delivered today, it struggles a little bit with the S8+ and case on. Will play with it more to see how it handles it

    • How does it fare with the case off?

      • Didn't get that far haha.

Will report back once I try it.

  • My order had gone through but they cancelled my order and did not tell me! Waiting on refund
