  • Any bargains?

  • Negging the deal, because they had a $20 off first order on their front page banner yesterday, only to get to the checkout to find out its $20 off $150.

This sort of click bait to get people on to their mailing list is really f**king annoying. It's probably illegal too.

They should really think about how much they are pissing off potential customer with these sorts of deceptive practices.

    • Pretty sure its in the fineprint. In this case read T&Cs 8.1 Vouchers & Coupons - http://www.winc.com.au/page/term
They can do whatever they want.

It's not. That's what really annoyed me. The offer had an asterix next to it, but no link to the T&Cs.

That's what makes it probably illegal.

They can do whatever they want.

I don't have a problem with them running a $20 off $150 coupon. It's when their deceptive about it to get my email address, that I get annoyed and start slamming them in forums.

    • I bought from them for work recently. It was made pretty clear to me is was $20 off $150.

      • Before you get to the checkout? How about during the sign up?

I saw the promotion and it was pretty clear it was for purchases over $150. Enough said.

        • Before the checkout? How about during the sign up?

I can still see the $20 off first order plastered in several places on the website (but not on the banner) and it doesn't mention min spend of $150 anywhere, just $20 off.

Clearly you forget the hollowed days of the free $20 vouchers

    • Lol imagine if that title was posted these days!

      winc winc ;)

      • I thought 'wince'

        • Let's just go with wanc-ers (formerly wan*-ers)

        • @salmon123: yeah why do they keep the formerly staples bit?

If staples is in the name which not keep it at that?

          @Suspect420:

It looks like some private equity company took over Staples Australia/NZ. I'm guessing the terms of the sale didn't let them retain usage of the staples brand, so using '(formerly staples)' is the only way they can capitalize on the staples brand without breaching the terms of the buyout agreement.

      Up there with Raiz.

  • Not to mention their crappy price beat policy:
    - Can't stack with a coupon
    - Need to check out with the full priced item and then include a reference code from email correspondence to get the discount … what a shitty way to do it.
