  • I listened to your advice, but still spent $5.50 on 10 reams of (probably chinese or indian) crappy A4 delivered

    • +1

Lol paper all around :) And ink to print on the paper with :)

    • +1

If it was Impulse brand paper, it's Brazilian.

    • u suck. stop whining about the quality if you don't want to pay for it. You can get better quality Indian and Chinese paper if you are ready to actually pay for it….

    • Is the impulse paper really bad quality? I just bought a lot of it and would be upset if it was sub-par quality. If it is, I would rather have paid more for the reflex.

      • Yeah I'd like to know too, if anyone has had some delivered yet and can comment?

        • +4

I find it to be half decent… Just opened it… Seems okay :)

        • Thanks :)

        • +1

How much variability in quality can actually exist in A4 paper? They have ISO standards for everything these days so should be fine.

      • +4

You can buy the reflex for $5.50 as well! They have a $10 off sale on paper in that quantity so you can get $30 worth of paper for free instead of $20. Got 5 reams ($27.45 for $5.50 i.e. free with delivery fee only!

    • +1

      It's Brazilian paper.

  • +1

    Don't deliver to QLD :(

    • +2

      or WA ;0(

how does this company make money?!

    • +5

maybe unhappy staff member set it up

    • +13

not sure about Staples, but the courier company is definitely making a sh*t load.

      • I should buy shares in Star Track Express. Their CEO would be welcoming Staples with open arms!

      • +8

Maybe Staples found a few discount codes for Star Track Express. :)

    • I noticed on my package that arrived yesterday it says CORPORATE EXPRESS which is the store that has most of the Government contracts for stationery supplies. No wonder they have money to throw around as STAPLES!!

  • +8

Somebody's got a big viral advertising budget, but perhaps wasted on OzBargainers. :)

  • +2

OMG, this keeps coming, but why i live in QLD!

    • +4

Because up here we can afford to spend $3 at Officeworks for our paper.

      • Your satisfaction of paying $3 per ream at officeworks just makes it so much sweeter to know i can get a box of 5 delivered for the same price.

        • But I need the paper by tomorrow.

        • But NSW customers get delivery on sunday mornings by star track express. I'm telling the truth, I swear!

        • haha lol

          lucky!

      • +1

Sorry mate but Staples hates Queenslanders.

    • -1

we could put a queensland adress and NSW postcode… right ?

  • +3

i guess i hv to try my luck by putting save30 or save40 or save50? :D

    • +2

Why not think bigger, try save99, save100 or save200? LOL

      • +1

omg the code FREE00 gives you a freebie! And code BANG!….BAM!

    • +2

Lol I tried a few codes staples20 comes up but it's old and only $20 off $80!!! No wonder that never made it to oz bargain.

      • This was on OzB, it was the code many of us used when the 1TB USB3 HDD was at the awesome price of $50 in April, most orders were for the HDD and some other useless items coming to $68 with free shipping.

        • Oh ok, I must of missed it

        • It was hidden in the deal at the the time from memory, may also have been briefly mentioned in the original post.

But not bad at all, $80 in total savings across the current 4 codes. How many more codes out there?

  • I don't know what to get?! Does anyone have any tips? I have two too many boxes of paper.

    • +1

Pepsi 8 for 5.9 is not bad? (coke is sold out) or dish washing tablets and cleaner is a good buy!

    • I got Coca-cola, Juice and Arnott lol.

  • It's basically a half price offer cos shipping is $10

    • Ur in Wollongong or Newcastle rite?

    • Doesn't work that way, if you buy without the voucher and hit exactly $20, you pay $30.

      • -1

So they increased the shipping from $5.50 to $10 now?

  • 7000 items not just paper.

    yeah guys!!!

    you make me jealous!

    As per usual!

    Awesome deal for those applicable

    • +1

You're a good sport Issh. Hopefully Staples (somehow) makes money and expands to other states.

  • +3

1.5kg of assorted Arnotts for $5.50… oh boy. Epic Biscuit Time anyone?

    • I just added 3 types of 500G. Then 1 more Impulse ream and all worked out to be 5.79.
      Fingers crossed.

      • +1

and what happens if this is ordered on a Tuesday? Free bikkies?

        • Think so. Last time I received an Arnott one indeed.

        • +2

I think Staples are over giving away free bix to Oztightwads!

      • They may have a conspiracy, like to promote The biggest losers?

  • Good detective work. Thanks.

    • Haha….yea…

    • +2

      Lame.

    • +4

      fail-broden clone

    • +1

I just tried to order those, and it told me they were sold out!
      NOT. HAPPY. JAN.

  • What about some TDK overhead headphones $19.95 - effectively just pay shipping.

    http://www.staples.com.au/technology-computer/audio-video-ph…

    Thats $5.50 for me.

    Other ideas:
    Batteries both regular and rechargeable
    Pens
    Folders/stationary
    Mailing bags
    Ink cartridges
    Extension cords
    Coffee/Milo
    CD markers/textas
    Laptop cases
    Gaffa tape
    Screenwipes
    SDHC cards

    • Just a warning on TDK earphones/headphones

Had 3, and all 3 failed on me
Few months after i had these, one of the sides started to break and couldn't work
but TDK has 1 year warranty so it's good!

    • hi, how did you buy the TDK headphones for 5.5 only? Don't we need to pay $11 shipping even if we use the $20 off voucher? The best i get the price down to was $11 which was because of the shipping, pls let me know. thanks

      • Shipping's $5.50 to "metro" (Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide).

    • I thought of Gaffa tape too but couldn't find any?

  • 3 in a row ! Keep them coming Staples

  • Yes, more pens!

  • Calculators are of good deals

  • +4

This is so awesome. I'm doing most of my grocery shopping at an Office supply website. 4x tubs of salsa coming my way.

  • +1

hmmm technically i would be violating their terms if i ordered more than 10 reams of impulse (max 10 per customer) but it seems the website would still process the transaction for each voucher. Decisions..

    • Is their paper any good ?

      • +1

Haven't tried it before. It is 80GSM which is the same as reflex (so same paper thickness and density, i guess). I couldn't imagine how it could be "bad"…

      • +1

http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/40424 will this cheap impulse paper jam the printers like this comment said? if it is, i'd rather buy reflex instead of impulse

    • They might suspend your order(s) and give you a call about it.

  • I'm not buying reams of paper.
I'm buying Lynx deoderant and the reams will take care of themselves.

  • +1

anybody found anything good amongst the 700 items for someone going overseas for an extended period of time ie lightweight, small and useful for traveller? cheers

    • +3

Thanks mate I'm just glad I could help out!!! :)

  • 10 reams. 5 bucks. Win.

  • +1

which is better. Nescafe food service blend or Blend 43?

  • +1

Staples are obviously trying to make their debut into the Australian market as big as possible, and honestly it's working.

    • Better than Hardly Normal's attempt called OFIS.

    • +1

Reading the fine print on the price guarantee reveals that Staples is the same company as Corporate Express, who are already well established here.

      from http://www.staples.com.au/pricepromise:
"Staples’ Australian business – company name Corporate Express Australia "

So everyone gets 3 bites of $20 just to change the brand name on an already-established business. I smell yet another Yankee marketing guru who's failed to learn from the mistakes of Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Borders etc.

      • +4

Not quite the same thing. Staples took over Corporate Express last year. The other companies were local start-ups. However, this is Staples' retail launch. Corporate Express never operated in the retail market (hence the name!)

      • +1

Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Borders etc…3 failed US companies in OZ. Brings a tear to my eye :(

  • +2

thx, just bought some more stuff i didnt need.. ;)

  • Please link or post your ideas of what to grab.

So much free stuff, such is life 8p

  • Thank you. You're a legend! This time I might just grab some post-it and few stationaries.

  • +3

You sir are a champ. Got myself 8 highlighters, 10 pens, 5 erasers, 2 liquid papers for $6ish. All set for uni exams. Just need to find that damn textbook..

  • +2

hey mate~~ i am not sure what happened… but when I applied the code it automatically filled in the address for me as follow… if this is your address.. you might wanna do something about? so not everyone will know who you are? I just thought i let you know

    mod: removed personal info

    • Its not, they have errors in their system, sometimes that can happen. Make your order and then change your details to random stuff. And please remove that info, its not the OPs but its someone elses.

      • +1

okey, did you want me to delete that comment.. I just realise i don't know how lol

        • +2

Haha yea you can only edit it for a small window after you've posted it, after that only mods can edit it. Ive reported it, hopefully a mod will swing by here and remove it.

    • Since checking last night, I have someone's "ESSELTE Superior Rubber Bands (Ref 43950) No 32 / 100g" in my checkout. I had hoped the database wwould be fixed by now, but still acts buggy.
