Miele C3 Family All Rounder (Ivory White) $299 (RRP $529) @ David Jones

230

Free standard delivery for purchases over $100. Or free click and collect.

Pretty decent price if you signed up for the 'spend $100 get $20' Amex cashback deal, expiring 26 May (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/377360). [Edit: just realised that the AmEx cashback also excludes Miele, but I'm not sure how they know what you've purchased. Removed from title just in case.]

Unfortunately no Cashrewards or Cashback with this one since Miele products are specifically excluded.

Always a sucker for a good vacuum pun…

I just got a c3 dog and cat for $320 yesterday, from binglee ebay

    • I missed that deal. we have a small house only two bedrooms and one small rug. Do you think this one is better than that Cat & Dog one?

      • yes, c3 dog and cat only has more accessories.

        • Thanks :) How do these perform? We were thinking about getting one from Kmart which is relatively cheap.. roughly 100

        • @twoperspectives:
Just used once, feel strong and robust.

Might consider C2 which is similar to C3 standard in spec, but made in China. AUD $22x.

        • @twoperspectives:
I don't think the design of these has changed much in 10 years, i could be wrong.
Our Miele is about 8-10 years old now, we purchased it after having 2 cheapies die on us in a 3 year period.
Today the unit operates as well as it did brand new, seems simple, well made and frankly seems built so well i'd be surprised if it doesn't last another 10 years.
Nothing super innovative, it just works.
If Miele have kept the same basic formula this is a bargain.

          @twoperspectives:

Don't buy cheap one, all the dust came back out from the cleaner air output.

I have Miele it is so clean even inside the bag door.

          @twoperspectives:
Our Miele vacuum was used (probably incorrectly) to vacuum up a fair amount of construction dust from renovations. I wouldn't recommend doing that because I now have to service it to get out all the fine dust particles, but it's still going strong and the fact that it didn't s@#t itself is a testament to its reliability in my books.

This or Dyson cinetic Big ball vac?

    • +3

This, my girlfriend doesn't like big ball.

    • +1 in the market so also curious!

Not sure why my comment was marked as "off topic". You can't get much more on topic than directly answering the question. All I said was -

This, my girlfriend doesn't like big ball.

She prefers Miele because they have a bag, so it's less messy to empty out. I've always had a Miele vacuum, they are great quality.

I have Miele C3 Cat & Dog and Dyson V6 animal. Dyson was doing a crappy job so after some research and online reviews, I bought Miele. Massive difference. Miele is way better in every way. On the highest setting, the vacuum gets stuck to the carpet. Amazing suction power.

    • +1

I dont feel this is a good comparison though. The v6 is a handheld vacuum, ofcoarse its not going to work as well.

      • True. Online reviews also talk highly of Miele vs Dyson ball.

Bagless is terrible when you need to empty it.

Is often for sale around $300

    • +4

Looks like it only goes back up to $529 long enough that they can continually say was $529

      When was it last $529?

Why, it was that price on the 8th of May!

(no mention that it was only for a day)

Hurry, sale ends on the 30th!

(goes back on sale on the 1st)
