NERF Maverick Dart Gun for $14 from Kmart (Plus Other Guns)

220

The Nerf Maverick dart gun is $14 at Kmart at the moment. I couldn't find it on their online store so I just uploaded a picture I grabbed from an ebay seller, which seem to be selling them for about $6 more plus postage.

EDIT: As below, it's $15 elsewhere but at Kmart, you get 12 darts instead of 6.

Alternatively, Big W is selling them for about $14.80.

It's a great little dart gun for the office or for the kids (the gun shoots 6 darts) and I'll be modifying mine to get a little extra power. :)

I also saw the little Nite-Finder for $10 ($15 at Toys'R'Us), the big Stampede for $54 (retail for this is $99) and the Airstrike for I think about $30.

As great as the Maverick is (and I LOVE my nerf guns) this isn't really a bargain price wise, considering it's only $1 cheaper than anywhere else. However, the Mavericks sold at Kmart come with double the amount of darts as a bonus, so you get 12 instead of 6. The saving isn't great, but definitely buy from Kmart if you want one :) The Nitefinder is also an excellent gun, and that one is much cheaper than the $15 price tag at Toy'r'us. And the Stampede, that's the biggest bargain by far. It's down from $78, but the original price is still good considering it's sold at $99 everywhere else. It's a plus from me!

    • Thanks for the update mate…forgot about the double darts though, will update the details

  • Stampede was $54 at Kmart in Brandon Park! (down from $78) They had heaps in stock.

  • I do love my Maverick.

The + is for the Stampede which looks like the good deal in this post.

  • Remember to check the returns trolley too (usually found at the rear of the store). I picked up a Stampede complete with all accessories for $32 last week. It was marked as $54.01 but the ones new in box had just gone on special for $54.00 that day, so I took it to the Lay-By counter to see if they could do anything about it.

The attendant took out the pricing gun and reduced it :D The issue on the label said it had been returned for "not firing" so it may have been returned by someone who didn't realise it needed batteries lol. With the exception of not coming in a box it was perfectly fine. I was stoked as the clips alone are an awesome accessory, being compatible with other guns and all…

    • Are all Kmarts supposed to have a returns/clearance trolley? I've always wanted to take a look, but the one I visit most (in Chatswood Chase) doesn't seem to have one. Perhaps there's one but I'm just not looking in the right place?

      • In my experience, most stores seem to. Usually the stuff IS just junk tho, seems to be alot of cosmetic stuff that has been opened/missing accessories but have luck occasionally.

Probably is junk in the trolley, but I wouldn't mind picking up a cheap nerf gun if there was one, even if it was broken I could use the parts :)

      • North Rocks clearance stuff is down the back between layby and audio visual. I've picked up some gems over the years, but often it's just junk that you walk on past.

        • I love bargain bins, it's the challenge of sifting through all the junk with other rabid dogs and trying to find the golden ticket.

  • the kmart near me has there returns/clearance right next to the layby section if that helps

    • Will check there tomorrow, thanks!

  • any alpha troopers?

    • You'll want to look in Target for those as they're Target exclusive apparently.

      …and I haven't seen any there since pre-xmas sales :(

    • Yep they're Target exclusive as Frozensolid has said, but they're still very much available. It's just that they sell out very quickly, so you've got to be there fast when they get stock in.

    • thanks guys :)

  • Pretty sure them alpha troopers were a limited release in Oz.

There is a few on ebay au

    The Barricades a Pretty Cool.

  • hi,

The Nerf darts came with my son's gun were very low quality, they all broke after couple days. Any idea if you can use darts made by other manufacturers?

    • You should contact Hasbro customer service, they'll probably replace your darts if you send the broken ones in.

    • bb_hunter - You mean the suction darts with the Maverick?

    • My friend has one of these (the Maverick) and he claims it can fire any of the nerf bullets, an advantage over other guns. However, I can't guarantee that - it was his personal experience. To my knowledge he had used the suction cap darts, the whistler darts and the original style.

You can get the 36 dart pack at Big W for just under $10. Or 100 dart ammo box at Kmart for $29. Target are now selling ammo bag with darts but can't remember price or number of darts. I'm waiting for the dart packs to go on sale.

I bought a Stampede and combined it with the drum from my Raider. Awesome.

The Kmart I checked today had none of the mavericks with "double the darts".

I hope this won't get marked as spam, but I just wanted to let you guys know about an Australian based Nerf forum over at http://www.oznerf.com/forum.htm

Great place to learn about modifying your blasters or finding out if there are any Nerf Wars organised in your area. It's one thing to mess around in your home/backyard with these things but taking part in a big war with 20-30 people is a whole other experience.

  • my son got the Recon Cs-6 for Christmas, the darts that came with this gun are the same that selling at Dealsdirect as mentioned on this post. Not sure the 100 pack from K-mart are better quality than the ones that came with the gun.

I want to neg this deal. Not because its a bad deal. But I hadn't heard of NERF before this deal. And after reading this deal last night, I came home with $200 worth of NERF gear.

    • you're a Nerf Nerd now :D

    • I wish I could spend that much at once on Nerf :P
