I'm looking for a 3.5KW system, this looks to be pretty good bang for buck.

For an extra ~$150 you can get a Mitsubish Electric (MSZ-GL35VGD) which seems to have the better reputation, but the LG also comes with WiFi connectivity (optional extra on the ME unit)

  • I wanted to get lg as t had wifi and I wanted to use it with Alexa and when I was looking for an installer the one I rang hand nothing nice to say about them and warned me multiple times not to buy it.

Has anyone got this? Have u had Any problems with it?

just buy a reputable japanese one (Fujitsu, Panasonic) and buy a Broadlink mini for extra $15, then you can set it up with Alexa, Google Home with ease. The only issue I had so far is the Mitsubishi Heavy Industry remote not recognised by Broadlink and had to set up each button manually

      • I couldn’t work out the broadlink, but Sensibo works great, same advice re brands of AC. MHI, Daikin, Panasonic. Maybe Fujitsu, Mitz Elec.

    • Most will only recommend the brands they supply, which is understandable

  • I'd never buy an LG aircon. Had a lot of dramas in the past. As above stick with fujitsu or mitsu or pana

I have 6 x 2.5kw units (Model: lg-p09AWN-14) in a business that I installed 6 months ago.. At least 2-3 a used heavily everyday and so far no problems at all with them so I certainly can't say anything bad about LG.

    • usually it’s the day after the warranty lapses

    • Not yet long enough in extremes of temp. I have a Mistral that’s been going fine in Tassie for five years, but you wouldn’t recommend that, would you?

  • Don't forget about the QLD government rebate and the Ergon PeakSmart rebate if you're buying an eligible model!

This one is only 3.5 kw cooking so cant get the government rebate!

      • Not really a deal if its not energy efficient for the rebate

        • Yeah i thought so, i got my kelvinator 2.5kw from ebay goodguys sales had 20% off and $100 cash back was $649 got it for $149 after everything was very happy

  • I bought one of this from eBay last year and installed it in my living room. It runs quietly and never had any issues with it. For residential use,LG gives you 5 years warranty on parts and labour plus an additional 5 years warranty on the compressor.

  • Would this be a better buy?
