Bear Escape Compound Bow $899.95 + Free Shipping (Was $1,199.95) @ Apex Hunting

1532

The Escape is Bear's 2016 flagship model and its claim to fame is blazing fast speed.

Coming in with an IBO of 350 FPS isn't the only reason to shoot an Escape but it's definitely a major plus.

With a riser made of strong 7075 aluminium, the Escape weighs in at only 4 pounds, making it super rigid and incredibly tough.

The H-15 Hybrid cam generates a ton of energy, all while being smooth to draw and very easy to let down.

At 32 inches axle to axle, the Escape isn't too short that it won't perform but not too long in a close quarters hunting situation.

With a 6" brace height the Escape hammers in performance but still feels forgiving due to the H-15 Hybrid adjustable cam system.

15 pounds of draw weight adjustability is a great feature, allowing for supreme tunability.

Dual string suppressors and rubber vibration dampeners installed into the riser make the Escape super quiet with almost no hand shock after the shot.

The Bear Escape, engineered with intenseness and the ability to deliver an arrow accurately at 350 fps.

It comes in RealTree Xtra Green camo, Shadow Black, Sand and Olive.

One of the new 2016 Bear models, the Escape is a high end hunting bow that will set the standard.

I don't see a debate, just people complaining because they don't like the rules.
If they don't like the rules they could 'debate' that elsewhere, the comments on a legitimate bargain are not the place for debating, which has been clearly communicated by the mods multiple times.
I dont care if choodi is or isnt a troll, he/she doesnt have to explain anything to anyone since the mods specifically told everyone not to sook in the comments (you may call this a debate) of bargains about firearms/weapons related items. Go to the forum, have your say there.

      • +2

@Covfefe Who made you the arbiter of what does and does not constitute a bargain? Prove to me that I intended to troll with this post.

        • -1

I have said all along this is a bargain. You may wish to read my comments. Just gutless not to be truthful in your intent.

        • @Covfefe: How many more times can I say it. It's a bargain. End of story.

If people are offended or think it's a troll, then maybe they are the problem, not me.

        • +2

          @choodi: Right…deflecting.

        • @choodi: I wanted to take up archery in general. Are there any regulations to owning these or do I need to be part of a club/get permit?

        • +1

@RandomDeviation: As far as I am aware, no state or territory requires a licence to own a compound bow. There are definitely restrictions on where you can shoot, so best to contact the archery association in your state for more details.

        • +2

@RandomDeviation: I joined my son at a 2 hour school holiday session, enjoyed it so did a beginner program (3 x 2 hour sessions with gear provided) and then decided to buy the gear and join a club (Sydney Olympic Park). FWIW, I spent $1k to get fully equipped with new gear (riser, limbs, string, stringer, arrows, sight, stand, arm guard, finger guard, quiver and case).

        • @arigoldforpm: That's useful to know. 1000$ isn't that bad later on down the road. Plus you learn a bt about patience and mindfulness

        • @Covfefe: admits it’s a bargain yet negs it as the op is “trolling”. Enjoy the revoked neg.

If I get this, will I be prepared for bear attacks?

    • No, but it will prepare you to escape from Bear escape compounds though.

  • No Bow

So the poster has admitted that they have posted this for controversy and trolling? This site is going downhill fast.

    • +6

      Where did I say that?

    • +3

i used to do archery back in high school, on school grounds (victoria, early 2000's). not sure why the hate, archery is nothing new, unless your part of the recent oz-bandwagon movement. heck its an Olympic sport! what do you all do when that segment comes on tv, throw your remote at it in protest and then proceed to light up social media?

  • Anyone who knows about bows able to weigh in on whether this is a good bow? I've always wanted one but know little about them.

  • time to get some popcorn

    Buy a hoyt

  • Decent bow. I'm a hoyt fan though.

  • +2

OP you must be a wuss. I go mano a mano with bears. Don't need no weapon

    • +4

Mate, I'm brave enough to go one-on-one with anonymous keyboard warriors. Take that! ;)

      • Mate, I'd take you on. Ozbargain rules of engagement.

        No guns.

        No bows.

        No knives.

        No harsh words.

  • Friends, all trolling aside how good is this as a bow? Is a 70lb draw weight suitable for adults? I think i may get one.

    • I posted this link to a review in another comment. I don't know enough about bows to make a firm judgement, but this would be a good place to start. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G2Un309EhI

These guys seem to have a good policy about giving advice, so give them a call and have a chat http://www.apexhunting.com.au/about-us

    • +1

      This tunes down to 55lb.

You need to be able to draw the bow without losing form at any moment. It's not hard to draw 70lbs if you do so without keeping aim the whole time.

To be able to fire a dozen arrows at 70lb with good form actually takes a fair bit of core strength.

    Any deals on recurve bows?

  • +2

Can I claim TRS on this ?

    • If they give you a Aussie tax invoice, cant see why not. But im not sure how would they feel about you taking it inside an airport…..

      • You can. I have done it. Similar to large items, it had to be claimed before bag drop off.

It needs to be in a hard case and depending on destination, may require arrows/broadheads in a separate case.

  • Why is this better than the same bow available on Ebay for about $200 less, USPS Priority delivered in a week or so (could be quicker than this one would be delivered)?

Example: New 2016 Bear Archery Escape 55-70# RH Compound Bow Package Realtree Xtra Green
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2016-Bear-Archery-Escape-55-70-…
US$528 is about $700, which is $200 cheaper than this.

I don't know enough about the products, maybe they are different, just asking why all the fuss about a superseded model bow.

    • +1

I guess it depends on whether you want the option of a local seller or not. Some people don't want the hassle of dealing with returns to US-based sellers, particularly on eBay.

I know for purchases of this amount I would definitely not want to try to arrange warranty and returns with a US-based eBay seller.

It's up to the individual I guess.

  • How would this go wild pug hunting?

    • +3

I don't think people would appreciate you filling their pugs with arrows.

    • +2

How would this go wild pug hunting?

      In New Zealand you mean……..

    • Oh wow sorry I meant Pig.

If this deal isn't for you then move along. Simple.

  • -8

Not that simple, you saw something you don’t believe it should belong to this community , you speak out , that’s simple. This is not a rubbish dump so whatever cheap can come here , no that cannot happen.

Nevertheless , I guess the OP just needs a way to vent , as it is not a firearms, I guess tolerance will prevail this time , but I downvoted it too. Just to express my opinion.

    • +2

That seems like a really good point for the neg. Are you able to translate it to English so I can confirm if that is the case? Thanks.

      • Oh,there is a thing called Google my stone-age friend.

        • +8

Yes I tried Google. But they advised that the translation of PolitcalSourGrapes to English is still in the pipeline, unfortunately.

    • +4

I'm sorry. I think this is a very valid deal. So there my opinion against yours. Why is your opinion more valid?

On a more relevant note, this is an invalid use of the neg.

  • Would like to get into archery in Sydney. Is Olympic Park the only range around? I'm close to the airport.

If I was to eventually going to start hunting is it best to join a club and tag along some people there?

  • oz-freedomofspeech.com! yay

  • Does this come with explosives arrows?

  • With all these weapons deals, OzBargain doesn't feel the same anymore.
