I'd rather get the digital copy.

  • Any switch games that are worth $10 trade going cheap somewhere?

So does that mean I would have to trade 2 $10 trade switch games to get the game and controller?

    • That's correct, from what I can gather.

      • Damn

Username checks out….Poke ball is an expensive gimmick though

Poke ball[Insert Hobby Here] is an expensive gimmick though

      FTFY

    • Apparently it will double as a Pokemon Go Plus as well, which are around ~$50 brand new. Expensive though, but if you play both games it might make it more worth it.

Not a fan of how bulky and tacky it is though.

To be fair, most Nintendo Switch games can be sold for more then $30.

The ones that won't sell over $30, are games that won't have $10+ Trade Value…

Sure, but like always trade in deals are for people who CBF with Ebay / Gumtree idiots.

The game looks like a joke. lol. Thanks Pokemon Go for giving us this trash.

    • +5

I think PUBG and Fortnite look like trash but yet here we are.

      • This game will sell like hot cakes tho

      • Yeah go H1Z1!

        :P

I'll be buying 2 Pikachu and an Evee btw ;)

    • +6

Its a spin off game, not the main title. Thats coming next year.
And its literally just Pokemon yellow remastered with added co-op and with Pokemon go style catching instead of battles.

Not sure how its trash unless you dont like Pokemon to start.

      • +3

Thanks for this - no wild Pokémon battles, no deal for me! What a boring game if you can’t even battle Pokémon to catch them!

      • Yeah, pretty much. I know the missus will have a blast playing this, especially with drop in coop play

      • +1

The CEO of the Pokemon company literally called it a mainline game though which is a slap in the face to the players.

      • +1

        It actually has battles.

        • +2

Pokemon go style catching instead of battles

Battles are not a method of acquiring pokemon in this game.

Battles are only trainer to trainer. I don't think they'll appreciate you catching one of their pokemon.

        • @zailiner: This brainlet gets it

  • Doesn’t the deal say any switch game, I can’t see where it says $10 Trade value

    • I'm going off by the article which states that requirement. Unfortunately, the photo is too blurry to ascertain the exact specifics such as the $10 trade value requirement or the expiry date.

    • I got an email for the deal. It deadset says that it can be any game for Switch, but then in the small print at the absolute bottom of it, it says it must be 10 bucks or more.

I would argue since there's no mention in the main email, or an asterisk or the sort pointing to the small print, that if you take their own advert at face value, it should be any game. I reckon if you kick up enough of a fuss you should be right if they don't wanna honor it, but really, it's just bullshit marketing as usual from EB.

The only real cheap game I can think of is Has-Been Heroes, which is like 19 preowned, so let's say you got 10 bucks for it, which I am 50/50 on honestly, you'd have to spend 20 to get it, which in turn means at most you stand to save 10 bucks for your bullshit there. Unless you had a copy of that sod of a game lying around, the deal is a lot worse than it sounds on paper.

So trading it a $10+ game knocks off $30. Meaning you stand to gain at absolute most $20 off an $80 game.

Think I'll hold my breath on Big W having copies for $60-$65ish, considering that everything worth more than $10 to EB, is likely to cost a good $30 anyway, which defeats any real saving for me personally.

Good deal though if you had a copy of Rayman Legends or something you were looking to get rid of anyways.

  • Ah EB Games, the land of RRP prices for the games. $80 in EB and probably $70 elsewhere or lower.
