This deal is actually passed on by chetan whose account is currently in penalty box :) But good offer from Big W so I am posting it here. Xbox 360 Arcade + Kinect Bundle for $348. This is online price only, and in-store price might vary.

  • SKU: BIGW_8106629
  • Boxed Contents: Xbox 360 Arcade Kinect Bundle includes 4GB Xbox 360 Console and Kinect Sensor, and Kinect Adventures Game.

Too bad the 10% off online offer promo code does not seem to work, and the price is still no matching to EBGames' Mad Monday offer last month.

  • pos and no comments, must be good stuff

  • Is this a good deal? I think there's better deals out there

Chetan's a better person than me…when I'm in the PB I keep my bargain finds to myself! :p

  • Most hackable thing on earth :D
    great find !

id never get over that name even if i know it's real

    • Slim can't be yet.

Sorry about my ignorance — I have just got a new TV and am thinking about Xbox 360 + Kinect. What kind of things can you hack on a 360? Any pointer?

      Thanks.

      • I think he is talking about the hackability of the kinect itself.

        • xbox is hackable too lol…maybe a bit problematic after the recent patch

        • @ furythree,

the slim is not not hackable yet (very soon according to c4a though)

      • scotty go to engadget and search for kinect, you will see what muzzamo means by hackability

      • http://kinecthacks.net has a good summary of all the hacks that have come out. Note: if you intend to hook up the Kinect to your pc/mac you'll need the USB adapter, which does not come in the Xbox Kinect bundles (it only comes in the standalone Kinect box). You'll need to source the USB adapter separately.

        • Thanks. Interesting use of technology :)

      • Scotty - the hacks are referring to connecting the Kinect to a PC. Look here for some pretty amazing examples - http://www.engadget.com/tag/kinect,hack

I don't know if you can connect the Kinect to a PC without the AC power adapter which is not included in the Xbox + Kinect bundles.

  • What are the chances of getting DSE or EB to match/beat this deal?

    • EB should MATCH it, but some people have alot of trouble getting them to do so.
Better chances are with DSE who will BEAT it and they don't care if it's not local, they'll call up anywhere in Aus.

  • Does anyone know any good 250GB deals ATM?
DSE has $498 for 250 gb, kinect bundle, with halo wars. Is that a good price?

  • So good - Makes me almost wish my kids didn't already have 'em.

DSE & BigW are the same company of course - Woolworths.

  • If you know anyone who works at woolies get their staff card number off of them, extra 5% off by putting the number in the everyday rewards box at checkout.

  • this was $299 at the Madmonday sale of EB. And 250GB kinect bundle with one extra kinect game was $469 at HN. So this is an OK price but not a bargain.

mad monday is over, and the hn bundle isnt available anymore either

  • Keep an eye out at local target stores, i found an old jtag-able arcade at mine for $200.

  • oh,my god…

  • Went to EB games to get a match (wanted it now, rather than wait), they said no, and DSE said the same thing…. maybe someone else will have better luck though.

Please be aware that the 4GB means this is the xbox Arcade which has no hard drive and should be cheap
(I think about $200 plus whatever value makes up the bundle)

    :-)

A HDD of 20+GB will mean the machine can store the games and updates etc.
4GB means it will handle Xbox Live and gamesaves and an arcade title or two, but I doubt it will even handle much DLC. It could likely handle a clip or two from halo, but it would fill fast.

The cheaper HD is the best bet, and it comes free in the pro. Buying the HD seperate and upgrading simply adds up to roughly the same price as th packages with the big hdd but without any extras.

    IMHO at lease 20+GB is a must….

    PS 250GB is available……..

This is my first post so please be gentle
No I am not a gamer but my son is ;-P

    • enough with that line sheesh

    • you can pick up the new hard drives for about $50 on ebay anyway.

  • Best deal so far has been EB Games' Mad Monday sale. It was $299 delivered for the same deal. Waiting for that to happen again. Hah.

You can actually use the 20GB or 60GB drive from older XBox 360s. Google it. Very easy to do.

  • I want the slim console without kinect. Anyone have an idea what the best price is at the moment? Someone mentioned HN had it for $299 in the post Christmas sales.

    • 250GB XBOX 360 is also $348 at BigW, if you want otherwise its better to wait for a good deal..

      • Yes
This is good for the time being

  • just bought, thanks

was curious, given that this is only 4gb, can't i just stick an external hard disk into it like I would for a laptop?

  • "Halo Reach's excellent co-op functionality requires an Xbox 360 hard drive. While that's unfortunate for all non-hard drive owning Xbox 360 gamers, it's especially worrisome for those of you who recently jumped into a 4GB Xbox 360 S. While they finally (quietly) released a hard drive for the new console, the $130 asking price is a hefty barrier to entry if you're looking for some co-op fun. Microsoft's official Halo: Reach FAQ page confirms the shortcoming:

Q1: The error "One or more players do not have an Xbox 360 Hard Drive. An Xbox 360 Hard Drive is required to play co-op on Xbox LIVE or system link" occurs when I try to play. Why?

A1: One or more players do not have a certified Xbox 360 hard drive attached to their Xbox 360 console. Some multiplayer aspects of Halo: Reach require an Xbox 360 certified hard drive."

So as long as the drive you buy is cetified its ok
By the time you do its better to buy one with the drive already
