OzBargain License Application Process

Over the many years of being a member i've seen countless mentions of an "Ozbargain License"
I've been having a hard time trying to get some info on it.

What are the benefits of the license?
What is the application process to get a license?
Do you need to do anything else to qualify?

I couldn't find anything mentioned in the wiki
Although, admittedly, most times it was mentioned was around the need to revoke it or hand it back in.

    You have to complete an intensive application process that involves a 3000 word essay on your suitability to be a licensee. It's a competitive process so make you you use every word wisely.

    You also have to have posted at least 10 deals that made it to the front page to prove your worthiness so this may mean you're not eligible, not sure.

    There's also an application fee but not quite sure how much it runs at these days. I'll let someone else comment on that.
