I was looking at the other BENQ monitor deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/382282) and went looking for the 27 inch 2k version, then came across this monitor. Yes it’s only 1080P at 27 inches, but for $180 (comparable cheapest I could find was $232 delivered from eBay).

Cost from PC Byte, CPLonline and MSY is $235 excluding delivery.

Description from PC Byte:

  • I picked up 2 @ $160 each for dad, it's a great deal!

  • so which 27" 2k you end up with ?

    VA2719-2k ?

    • I actually ended up with this one in the end and chose to forgoe 2k resolution. I figured I’d only be running a 1060 anyway, so this will allow me to go for Ultra at 1080p as opposed to potentially dropping some settings for 2k smooth running.

      • If 3840x2160 is 4K, wouldn't 2560x1440 be 2.5K and 1920x1080 be 2K?

        • 1920x1080 = 2,073,600 pixels
          3840x2160 = 8,294,400 pixels

          but

          1440 is 720x2 hence 2k.

          Just a guess

        • 2k is just a generic go to for any resolution within the ballpark of 2,000 pixels horizontaly.

        • Correct. Those terms are made by marketers and literally made to sound catchy rather than consistent and accurate.

          3840x2160 is 4K (3840 = 4000ish) (also used to be 4096, but now 3840 is good enough to be called 4k)

          2560x1440 is 2K (2500 = 2000ish, relatively unpopular with the masses so 2K just sort of slots in between 1080 + 4K)

          1920x1080 is 1K/1080/FHD (1080 = 1000ish, yes the vertical number instead of the horizontal)

  • I don't think it has internal speakers.can anyone confirm please.

    • I believe it has internal speakers.

      Built-in Speaker - 1Wx2

  • I just checked my wholesale supplier and they are $265 Ex GST. Bought 2 for the office and I get 5% cash rewards and the NAB refund. Winning.

    People should be cautious going 27" at 1080p. The pixels are enormous. Everything looks like Minecraft.

    • +13

      Man that's a bit of an over exaggeration. When FullHD just came out and it was the bleeding edge and the best you could get, I was hearing people complement FullHD as beautiful and sharp and out of this world.

      The guys below only had compliments for their thousand dollars setup.

      http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/245026-28-sharp-1080p-comp…

      Then 1440 and 4K comes out, suddenly everyone's vision got "better" and 1080p become blurry?

      • -3

        I said 27" at 1080p. Not just 1080p. 1080p is fine, I use it myself. But not when its stretched over such a massive screen.
        You and all the people liking your comment should learn to read properly before jumping to conclusions.

        • +1

          Look at the link I posted. The guy had a 28" screen

        • +3

          My 28” 4K sits next to my 27” 1080p and I can definitely confirm, couldn’t read your comment on the 1080p because all I see is Minecraft.

          @fuzor:

          Good for him. 1080p is absolutely horrible over that size. Unless you're sitting abnormally far back or have poor eyesight.
          There's a reason why business go 22" for 1650x1050, 24" for 1920x1200 and 30" for 2560x1600. Any smaller and you're starting to lose detail due to not being able to easily see individual pixels, any larger and you'll start getting a headache due to text being excessively blocky.

      • My god these photos are only from 2007??? Look at those websites… the speakers, joystick, house phone, furniture!! amazing how aged it all looks after just 10 years.

  • Does this have tilt swivel and most importantly height adjustment or is it fixed? Couldn't tell from product page

    • +1

      Just looking at the stand, it will tilt a bit. No height adjustment or 90deg swivel.

      • +1

        Specs indicate Tilt (down/up) -5˚ - 20˚. Not sure about height adjustment or swivel.

        • Thanks guys. Not for me then.

          @djevoultion:
          Thats easily solvable buy using a wall mount or a Desk mount.
          I bought this one from kogan and love the space it cleared up.
          https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-dual-monitor-mount-2/

          Only real downside with this one is because both are on the same pole you can't adjust the heights of the two if you have different model monitors.

          It has tilt, full rotation, and you can adjust height. then you just buy whatever monitor you want and not worry about the stands they come with.
          Oh also use kogan's refer a friend to get a $10 voucher to bring this down to $50 delivered. Refer to yourself at another email.

  • How do you get the new customer discount? Is it for the first order from the amzon AU store or will using amazon overseas disqualify me?

    • +1

    I got this same monitor for 180 used from gumtree 2 months ago. And it's good for the price. I really didn't find the 1080p and 27'' blurry like some people say. It looks good. Very satisfied. Also has speaker but low quality. Most people never use the speaker anyways.

    • It's only blurry if U need your specs

  • How do I get the $20 off. I don’t have a account with amazon yet. Thanks
