Might be worth combining this deal for an extra 10% off tonight. Would bring the price below $600.

QLD customers: rebate for $200 since this is a 4.5* rated washer.

Effectively, if you're in QLD, this would be a steal well under $400.

beat me to the QLD rebate comment.

Need to check but I believe that the rebate has ended, unless purchased on or before the 3rd of June.

      • +1

Glad you mentioned that! you're right. purchases ending 3rd June.

        • thanks. I only saw 3 july closing date. was waiting for the 10% off tonight to purchase,

        • @altomic: You've got 30 days so you'll be right. :)

I bought one of these via Appliances Online a month ago. It's a very good washing machine. There is a more complex model that rated highly on a recent Choice front loader comparison article which is a lot more expensive. This seems to be the same machine with fewer options but same low running costs.

    • We bought the more expensive model a while back. There are some nice features if you are into that. The best feature is the "Add Garment" button which allows you to pause the cycle and add/remove something.

      • I would have thought most washing machines would have the pause and add clothes feature now?

        • -1

Front loaders with a conventional door aren't going to have the feature, ever.

@PinzVidz: lol yeah it would be a bad idea!

        • +1

          @PinzVidz:

Yes they do, because the water level in front loaders does not reach above the door mark any more. In the old days of inefficient machines where the water would fill the half way up the glass, obviously not.

But newer ones the clothes tumble in only a small few inches of water in the bottom of the drum. The door can be opened to add a sock.

Suggest for whoever interested to price match with appliances online. Typically, they will match it and throw in free delivery, installation and disposal of the old machine. If you're lucky and negotiate nicely with the rep, the may even round down to the nearest round number.

My method: Appliances Online sold me this unit (https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/lg-wd1411sbw-11kg-front-…) for $1150 + Free Delivery, Installation & Removal of Redundant Unit.

I've used this (https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/wd1411sbw-lg-11kg-front-…) to get appliances online to price match, applied MAY2018 for $20 discount and quoted cashreward 1.4% to get the final figure of $1150. Hope it helps for those looking for a new washing machine as well.

You may apply this code (EOFY2018) with Appliances Online which gives you $20 off.

  • I bought the Washsmart version a couple of weeks ago in the 8.5kg. The main difference between the 2 is that the Quick Smart (this version) does not have hot water taps / washing. It's cold only. But this is a great price if you don't need hot washing.

Also, the drum entrance is fairly small, especially for an 8.5kg. i swear i could fit a lot more in my 6.5kg top loader than my 8.5kg front loader.

    • If your home have solar powered water heating, washing machine unit with hot water tap will be useful.

      • If you have solar panels and can run the wash during the day, you might be better off with a cold supply only washer.

Usually front loaders have an internal heater

Many machines these days do not come with a hot water connection, only cold. This does not mean you are limited to only cold washes. It means the washing machine itself does the heating of the wash water (rinse water is always cold).

I prefer it this way, as the machine heats the small amount of wash water to the exact temperature set.

If you have a hot/cold connection, the machine will often have to heat anyway, as since the machines use little water, by the time the hot water comes through from the hot water system, the machine has enough water, and it's still cold in the machine.

This is even more so if your hot water system has a longer run of piping to the laundry taps.

We have this machine too, excellent direct drive washing machine.
Replaced a piece of s$!t Samsung - a horrible machine with countless fault call outs.
Anything around the $600 mark is good value for a reliable F & P washing machine.

    • I'm looking to buy this. Our Samsung has been a lemon from day dot. Never buying another Samsung again.

  • Anyone got a way to get instant discounted e-gift cards for the good guys? Im in VIC

  • I bought F&P WH7560P2 (ONE OF THE EXPENSIVE ONE) from The Good Guys 2-3 weeks ago and 59 min cycle takes over 2 hours 10 minutes to wash and does not reflect actual time on display. Technician came today and said we are getting few complained about it and advised to call customer service for swapping with new machine as its only 2-3 weeks Old.When called CS they said we will only replace the parts not swap it. Ridiculous Experience. There CS operates 24/7 though which is a good thing.

  • Ended up buyig this with the 10% off code, plus used cashback for a further 4%. Brings it down to about $560 all up which is worth it for me.
