    What is Linden TV?

    • Looks like it's a cheap Good Guys brand:
      https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/linden/televisions

    • +6

It's TGG's own brand that must be so reasonably priced that they couldn't afford to give an extra 10% off ;)

Think of the money they'd be losing on this already reduced HDMI cable:
      https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/linden-premium-hdmi-high-spee…

      Edit:
And Linden products seem to be pretty innovative

This LINDEN TV features a 65-inch screen, so you can watch the big screen without being close up to the screen.

      Genius.

View HD content by connecting your laptop with its four HDMI inputs.

Exactly what I'd buy a UHD TV for. I just hope my laptop has enough HDMI outputs to connect those 4 cables required though.

The L65UTV18 TV features two USB inputs and a 2 year warranty.

      Two of everything.

You can pair with a compatible DVD player and sound system with this LINDEN television.

Stop. Just take my money already.

You know, after my partner and I purchased a Miele vacuum cleaner and a AEG washer, we’ve never worried about the so-called sales. But I am still wondering why these two brands and sometimes with Electrolux they seldom participate in those sales events…..

    • +16

Miele, AEG, Neff and Asko are all agency brands. They are sold on consignment by the store for the brand - the store is the agent for the brand. The brand sets the price, regulates what stock the store carries and has on display. In return for selling the item the store will receive a fixed rate of commission - at no point does the store ever 'own' the stock, so it is not theirs to discount.

Some of these brands even prevent free delivery been offered by the store to entice the customer to buy. There are stacks of terms written into the contract between the stores and agency brands. The price will be the same no matter where you buy it from.

Miele vacuums and bags are different though, these small appliances are sold to the store in a regular fashion - so a store could discount these as they like. I dare say it is a convenience issue for the T's & C's not allowing discount, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a discount on these in store.

I have never seen Electrolux excluded. They are a 'normal' stocked brand, where a retailer can set their own price. AEG is Electrolux's agency brand.

  • Hisense fridge 610L. Great fridge, normally around $999, on special for $898 + 10% off = $808.20. Bargain!
    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/hisense-610l-side-by-side-ref…

    • Be nice if HN price matched and then use two amex deals to bring it down to $708.20

    • It's been down around the $700 mark before… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/351902

Seems to be well received but only 2.5 star energy rating

    • I bought this 2 years with 20% off on TGG ebay for $800. So I think it not worth $800 now

I have been looking at Sony TV's quite a bit and I would say that KD55X8500E is the better model. 100HZ and Android OS

      • thanks gabswe, have you settled on one yet?

      • I used to be excited about Android OS for TV's but now I'm unsure of whether that's an advantage - doesn't it become obsolete and a security risk after a couple of years with no more updates?

And the refresh rate specs are pretty meaningless.

        • +2

Android TV is great if you like waiting 10s for your TV to turn on, and occasionally much longer when the OS crashes ;)
In exchange, you do get 4k Netflix built in.

I don't think it's much security risk unless you're masochistic enough to use the web browser. (or install dodgy apps of course)

        • @abb:
Not hearing much love from having android on your tv

    • I would also like some opinions on this. Not much info online, input lag is very important for me also. If it has terrible lag I'd have to return it.

      Any thoughts on this?

      • Input lag on US model X690E (which appears to be same as X6700E) is 20ms, which is very good.

  • Great just in time. Would this laptop Acer Aspire 5 with i7be a good deal with the 10% off. Using it for Adobe Lightroom editing and photoshop. Any opionion appreciated

  • still waiting on my mothers day $20 voucher… come on tgg

  • Trying to use store credit at checkout & won't accept :(

  • just went to my local store as ive been keeping an eye on a few chest freezers..
and what do you know, they have raised the prices… jump on ebay goodguys, and its cheaper.

probably best option is to buy online and pick up.

didnt bother waiting to talk to anyone.. just walked straight out.

    • +1

My local GG prices are always different to online but they always scan at the right price. Guess they just don’t bother changing all their in store prices.

      • Like i said though.. Ive been keeping an eye out on a few freezers.. They definitely jacked up their prices on the tags..
I couldnt be bothered waiting for someone to free up to ask if they would honor the usual price.
