Here's a tip - sign up and THEN add the item to the cart.

That way, you won't have that same problem again :-)

      • +1

You shouldn't really have to sign up to (and create yet another user/password combination for) a single product site that has a reasonably high chance you will never make another purchase from.

        • +1

Yeah, OK - maybe you "shouldn't" have to… but I cannot recall one online shop where I haven't had to sign up.

One way or the other, to get your delivery you have to type in:
          a) Your Name
          b) Email Address
          c) Delivery Address
          d) Payment Details

So, in practical terms it makes zero difference if this is called "sign up" or "delivery information" or "order details"… you still have to do the same amount of typing and exactly the same amount of information is collected.

I couldn't care less about the User/Pass stuff - I just use the same details for all online shops, since I highly doubt they will use my login to hack into an opposition seller's shopping cart and make purchases from them on my behalf.

  • Hello,
Can i use this offer on any contacts or is it only on the Aussie contacts?

    will these arrive by Wednesday?

    • Yes if you're in Australia's next day delivery network.

      • i just ordered, didnt choose express. Doesn't the next day delivery network only apply for express postage?

      • Do you have to choose the express post to get it by tomorrow or will the $5 postage get it here by tomorrow?

        • You can use express postage to be certain but we'll be sending them all out by 5PM Brisbane time today.

  • +2

Bought 2 sets with Express for $30.. OZBARGAIN for sure…

  • +4

It's a bit worrying that a contact lens company can't spell "lens" correctly.

    • +4

Brians, Paul (2003). Common Errors in English. Franklin, Beedle & Associates. p. 125. ISBN 1887902899. http://wsu.edu/~brians/errors/lense.html. Retrieved June 28, 2009. Reports "lense" as listed in some dictionaries, but not generally considered acceptable.

    • lol

    • +1

I'm glad it's not just me who gets irritated by little things like this!

    • +1

lense and lens are interchangeable. It depends which dictionary you choose to believe. According to the oxford dictionary the word 'Lens' is right in this context.

      • +2

"Lense" is not Australian English. It's got nothing to do with which dictionary you "believe".

      • As a dinky-di Aussie, I choose to "believe" the Australian Macquarie Dictionary on my bookshelf. Particularly appropriate in this thread IMHO as we're talking about lenses with an Aussie theme, on sale for Australia Day. What's your source?

      • +1

im glad both of you know how to use quotation marks to be condescending

        • +1

I used quotation marks to show that I was quoting the original post in this thread. I imagine the other poster did likewise. How would YOU have indicated a quote?

      • +1

        Just a thought:

If you guys start slinging dictionary quotes at each other you're going to be here all night. If you REALLY want to talk about this in terms of dictionaries you need to decide if you're talking about a prescriptive or a descriptive dictionary.

A prescriptive dictionary tells the reader how a certain group of people has decided that a certain word should be spelt. A descriptive dictionary describes contemporary usage of a word, including spelling, hence lens being both "correct" and "wrong" depending on who you ask.

I am SUCH a grammar nerd. Nice work on the contacts offer btw!

        • +1

Well said, I absolutely agree - including re the contacts! I guess the previous poster thought I was being condescending so - I apologise - I didn't intend to appear that way.

Now let's get back to hunting some bargains… :)

  • +1

Ordered a pair, hope to receive it before Aussie day! Cheers OP

  • Normal post is 2 days between capital cities. If you're not in Brisbane and it's not shipped via express you won't receive it tomorrow.

  • can't pick up a pair at all? We're having aussie day celebrations at work tomorrow (we're closed pub hol) and would like to collect a pair if possible (if you are in Brisbane)

    • Send us an email to [email protected]. We'll organise for a bulk order to come out to you tomorrow.

      • email sent

  • +1

Ordered mine as well. Thanks! And in Brisbane too so woohoo.

  • +1

Geez for $5 you can't go wrong. Should be good for some $hits and giggles. ;) Thanks.

  • +1

    thanks what a bargain!

  • Hello,
i just put an order in for Wanneroo WA but i wish to change the address. i will email you now the new address.
    thanks

  • I don't see why these things keep popping up in freebies. When it is clearly not.
Its a good deal… but its not a freebie. Come on mods. Time to be strict.

    • Oh, sneaky buggers - didn't notice that!

Did you report it the thread?

  • Got them once, too scared to try them, threw them out.

    • What a waste.

      • How sad, wasted $5…

        • It's not the $5… It's the fact that they put it on sale (basically free), send it to you via express then you bin them.

        • Yeah, but after reading advice from others, I decided not to take the risk.
I paid for them, so they were mine.

  • I love the novelty idea behind these but would anyone even attempt to put them in their eyes? Anyone had any experiences?

  • +1

just got mine today. Came in the express post bag!
    here is a pic

    Thanks guys!

    • Got mine today too! Nice going with the express post…

Just wondering - even if inserted correctly, won't they change their axis with time?

      • yeah but you can just turn them back

  • +1

As an eyecare professional I would strongly advise against wearing coloured contacts such as these - especially when they have not been professionally fit to your eyes. I deal with infections, scarring and permanent disfigurement as a result of lenses like these on a regular basis. Buy some crazy sunglasses instead

    • If you're actually an eyecare professional you should make enough money to not need to search the web for bargains haha. Nah only joking thanks for the tips but the Aussie spirit cannot be denied, people will do things tomorrow that are illegal/immoral/unhealthy, but also entertaining. And thats why we love Aus day!

    • Could bring new meaning to having fun and "getting blind" perhaps? A serious warning though, thanks for sharing.

  • +1

Got my pair in the mail today (Melbourne).

Will be taking my normal lenses out and replacing them with the Aussie ones for the Socceroos match!

  • +1

Received today, express post. Top service and great bargain.

  • +2

+1 for the Socceroos match. On to the finals we go!

  • Has anyone received theirs in WA yet? I didn't order via express and it's going to suck if I get them after Australia day.. Are postal services even running today?

    • Are postal services even running today?

      No

      REASON

      I didn’t order via express

      should've ordered express

it’s going to suck if I get them after Australia day

guess it would, but you could use it next year

      • Don't you think it's odd that express is $15 so you pretty much have to use express if you wanted the lenses in time for Australia day, yet the bargain is listed as $5..

Also I don't know how safe they would be to use after 365 days, is it 90 days of use or do they have an expiry date?

P.S - Thanks for the response.

        • they have an expiry date, although i think it 90 days after opening and/or a set expiry date

        • I payed $5 total on monday received them yesterday im in adelaide scared the kids a bit pretty funny

        • +1

Just wanted to add that I got mine today, might give them a go on the weekend but don't really want to look like a docuhe.
