This looks so much more nicer than the phones with the notch..

    • You meant:
This ONE looks so much more nicer than THREE phones with the notch..

      • +1

which three phones with a notch are you referring to?

I have seen the new android phones and they are all coming out with a notch
Even the oneplus 6 got a notch..

The Notch totally ruins the viewing experience when watch movies or playing games in full screen.

        • I'd say he's referring to the 3 phones in the recently released XIaomi MI8 range: all with butt fugly notches. Ironic considering they ridiculed the iPhone X when they launched the Mix 2.

Guess they saw all the android phones coming with a notch and they didn't want to miss out on the fun
and concern that the market will go for the notch..

          Personally I hate the notch..

What is the point of having a full size screen with minimal bezel and then see an ugly notch on the side when watching movies or playing games..
Even text scrolling is stupid when the scroll bar is on the notch side.

Steve jobs is probably rolling in his grave if he knew about the notch…

The notch has also proven to be unreliable when unlocking iphones despite what apple marketing saids.

The Notch totally ruins the viewing experience

Ooooh right, you've never used a phone with a notch so you don't know that it doesn't.

        • @pinkybrain: >then see an ugly notch on the side

Sorry, where is this phone that just plays media and full screen apps with the notch sticking into the app?

        • @Diji1:

          I've seen youtube reviews..

Looks pretty stupid to me when viewing full screen videos or playing games full screen (immersive mode)

        • @Diji1:

wow didn't know you are so offended by notch critics..

          sorry notch lover

@Diji1: with many screen being more than 1920 pixels, they use it for extra info …..like on lg v20, nokia 7+, etc ….18:9 is the new favourite format on big screens , especially with android 8 split screen support.

other option would be they just blank out the notch to the left and right and you get less info when not watching movies …. fhd is 16:9, these noteched screens are 18:9, you still get full 16:9 is you blank out the left and right of the notch.

Notch sure what you are all getting so worked up about.

          @WatchNerd:

Watch what you are saying, nerd..

        • @pinkybrain:

not the manufacturers fault, it's google who integrated the notch in their software in the first place

        • @jayzorz:

I think Google did it though cause they must know that android phones are support notches due to trying to copy apple.
So Google didn't do the notch support first before the android phone manufactures did.
Or they were asked to support the notch by the android phone makers..

I hate the apple notch, and apple starting this notch trend.

Steve jobs would be rolling in this grave if he knew about this notch incorporated in to his iphone..
Steve jobs was about having good design, and the notch ruins the design or view screen of the iphone.

If you go in to fullscreen immersive mode on the iphone X, the notch ruins any video or gaming experience.

So you end up going in to fullscreen with two black bars mode, which means your actual screen size is smaller than an iphone 8 or 8+

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vdIDSgXJys

        • @jayzorz:

The notch also created by Apple for face unlocking camera..
But it has been proven that the face unlocking is unreliable

So you end up with a crap notch that ruins your view screen
and the crap face unlocking that is unreliable.

        • @pinkybrain: Notch a fan on puns I see?

        • @drew442:

          No I am notch.

    • -1

I think less bezel looks nicer myself.

  • I've had mine for 6 months now and it's been great. Caveats being that I don't take selfies, I don't take many photos, I use bluetooth headphones and I store everything in the cloud.

    • is their front and back camera crap?

      • +1

It's not crap but it could be a lot better. It's the main thing letting down such an awesome phone. Good to see they've improved it on the Mix 2S though.

        • but mix2 is alot more smaller than the mix1

        • @pinkybrain:
          This is the Mix 2

        • @Forenti:

          yeah I know..

i mean the mix 1 screen looks bigger than the mix2

        • +1

          @pinkybrain:
Yes it is, 6.4 inch vs 6 inch, but I was never talking about the Mix 1

I wouldn't recommend the Mix 1 anyway as it doesn't have many cellular bands (including missing 28) whereas the Mix 2/S has heaps

        • -1

          @Forenti:

          Which phone you got?

        • Been reading on reddit the mix 2 back camera is much improved using Gcam.

    • Comments on OS MIUI?

  • great phone with regular camera.

  • +1

Very tempted. What's Banggood like with warranty returns? I've heard bad stories about malfunctions with these phones.

  • Showing $460 au
    Or paying us $470 au
    Both without insurance

    Nevermind just reread bottom line

  • EU charger though

  • Is it worth it to add another $230 - 260 for Mix 2s, snapdragon 845, much better camera (dxo mark 97), wireless charging, android p?

    • Up to you but can't see much to justify paying $250 more just for the camera and a few other little things.

      https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9067&idPhone2=8…

      • Hmm.. Depend if you rely heavily on camera i would say. The difference actually pretty significant.

Processor in mix 2 is 1 late generation

        Wireless charging

        Hmmm…..

    • I'm tempted but I buy phones so rarely that I think i'll hold out for the 2s to come down a little.

      • Yea, always buy 1st - 2nd generation late, price significantly depreciate.

Not really wise to buy new released phone

  • +3

No headphone jack? The hell is wrong with these phone companies.
