Been waiting for a Gear S3 deal

    Cheers OP

    • I am still juggling between this and the Frontier 735XT. Unable to decide :-(

Isn't there issues with making NFC payments for grey imports?

    • +3

From eglobaldigitalcameras website, *May not be compatible with Samsung Pay.

      • But why??? Nfc chips are universal. Dont think it may not work

        • +4

Probably because of firmware lock down. Samsung pay only works with cards issued by the same country associated with the phone firmware. But for phone you can flash with stock firmware of other countries to get around this. Not sure about smart-watches though.

        • @lgacb08:
          Thanks!

        • I bought through DWI and some of the samsung pay features do not work. Mine shows a UAE version and therefore I cannot add australian issued cards. So, better get the Aussie version. Its a pretty good deal.

    • Shipping isnt FREE? with basic shipping cost of 19$, it comes to $340 for me.
And I would still pay 27$more for the local warranty/support etc.

When they are below $350 for an AU model, I'm all in….

$348 with $50 AmEx Cash Back @ Harvey Norman

      • he probably doesn't have AMEX

  • You can get them at Optus for $360

  • Those who dont have AMEX offer, can try price beat (5%) at OfficeWorks ($378.1).

    • +1

Thats what I did and grabbed their last one

      • would have been better, if officeworks updated the online price so that we can match it HN and then use the AMEX as well..

        • true

        • How would that work?

If OW matches HN's price, then they are the same price. You can't PM someone who is PMing you.

And when OW PM's somebody else, it will be the same price, not 5% less.

  • Officeworks have updated their price now to $398

Got one. Been waiting to combine sale and Amex.

  • Does anyone have one of these?

I have the S2 (not classic), and sometimes the dial is hard to turn. I think there's not enough grip on the wheel, so turning it is hard. Sometimes it's easy. With one finger it turns without resistance. Other times I need two fingers and it still resists me.

The classic is designed with teeth on the rim so you can use your nails to turn it.

Another problem I've been having recently is the watch gets disconnected from the phone when you're apart, but when you get back into range it does not reconnect and you have to manually reconnect via the app which is a dealbreaker.
