    Nice find!

    Eligible customers only

    Definitely targeted.

Interesting that it specifically excludes: Officeworks.

That's ridiculous, it's literally an extra 5% saving which you could get anyway by getting discounted gift cards from Woolies, they're a joke. For them to go out of their way to get eBay to ban them from sales is not going to work in their favour eventually..

      • +1

Gift cards have a fairly substantial % not redeemed and require pre-planning. So overall the 5% discount on the cards is actually increased profit.

      • What is ridiculous is your comment, do you think a large amount of their sales come from ebay? No.
Also what is so good about office works that you need to buy from them?

Woolies don't sell discounted cards of their shelves for officeworks (or any other afaik).

        • What is ridiculous is your comment, do you think a large amount of their sales come from ebay? No

Exactly my point, then why do they need to ban their store during a sale that doesn't even impact their bottom line. They might as well just not even have an eBay store as they pay the same fees for any sitewide sale, it impacts the consumer not them.

Also what is so good about office works that you need to buy from them?

Because they're usually the cheapest for popular items.

Woolies don't sell discounted cards of their shelves for officeworks (or any other afaik).

          I meant eBay gift cards.

    • Looks like eBay finally caved to the fact that Officeworks withdrew all their products from sale each time there was a sitewide sale. Probably having a sitewide sale that decreases sales through a particular retailer is not great for eBay.

I'd assume for some of their products 10% means below cost. I know of other retailers who had to decline to participate in eBay sales because it would mean selling below cost, as they were running previous discounts right up to the sale date.

      • From what I’ve been told by retailers, eBay is throwing these discounts at their own expense i.e: retailers will get the full price for their listing. I also believe this is to be the case because all the tax invoices I have received from retailers for goods purchased with these type of eBay promotions have the full amount listed. And I would think it would be illegal for a business to issue a tax invoice with an incorrect price.

They also don’t have to honour eBay discounts in their stores because their price match policy specifically excludes these type of promos. So I see no reason for them to pull out.

Sitewide sales are funded by eBay! Do you think that everyone on eBay worldwide agrees to fund the sitewide sales?

Targeted sales for stores like the 20% off are funded entirely by the stores.

Officeworks don't participate in any of the sales because they claim it's not fair to other shoppers if on eBay it's 10-20% cheaper. The truth is that Officeworks are a crap store.

  • Oooooo brings the Switch from Catch down to $359. Is this a no brainer or?

    • Only if you want it to be.

    • Mario rocks.

    • 10% via unidays as well..might be worth it. I think auspost is already doing 10% off on catch GC's though. But I guess you get an extra 1% via cashrewards via ebay.

      • Could you expand on this - are you saying a unidays code could stack with this MAJESTIC code?

        • -1

          You cannot stack eBay codes.

        • -1

Sorry I thought he was talking about buying a catch GC. Misread and thought the listing was saying that GC's were included. However, per this post, auspostwill have 10% GC's for sale that stack with unidays. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/382535

  • Seems to be a very limited target group!

  • Got the deal on both my accounts. What to buy?

    • -3

  • +1

    thx ebay :/

  • When this ebay plus thing will be offered?

  • How many people are getting these targeted discounts? I haven't received one since 2017.

    • I have never received one. but I've been an active ebay user since 2003. So i can understand why they wouldn't target me.

Getting annoyed so I've started creating some new accounts.

  • got 20% off up to $50 discount yesterday on one of my extra accounts

    • Got 3 codes the other day

  • +1

2 out of 4 accounts were targeted . Excellent.

    • +1

      Are you planning to use?

      • Absolutely!

  • not received

  • Nice! I got 1 out of 5! Thank you

  • Do you receive these offers in emails?

I never receive eBay emails apart from when I buy something

    • Yes, they generally target people who don't use eBay often, hence why a lot people have multiple accounts.

  • -1

Between the markups and inflated prices on electronics on eBay, there's not a lot of great deals right now.

  • Checked my inbox only to find my code was DIDNTGETSHIT instead

    • At least it is better than mine: DIDGETSHIT :(

  • Crossing my fingers for a sitewide non targeted offer before EOFY

  • Got it in 1/3 accounts here

  • Not me, not I

  • Really tempted to buy a drone but can’t help think there will be a 20% sitewide soon.. maybe a 19% for their birthday in September?
