i got my philips hue bulbs delivered 2 weeks ago and they packaged it fine

if smashed, send amazon a photo and they will either refund or replace.

LED bulbs are usually made of thick plastic. It would take a truck driving over them to smash them up

    • These bulbs are plastic, would survive better than glass halogen ones

  • That bulb is a mighty bright one!!! Wow!

        RUOK?

        • +2

I'm guessing Holly was just dumped by Philip and the bulb is a metaphor for her heart

    • yes, i ordered a few. 2000 lumens is awesome

Posted 4 days ago by "vanderlee".

    • just had a search and this is the title

Phillips LED 8w E27 - Warm White for $3.99 + Delivery from Amazon Au

So doesn't qualify as a dupe

  • Is warm white the yellow or white colour. Keep forgetting.

    • +2

      warm white is yellowish
      cool white is whitish

I had the same problem, and now I remember it by thinking about snow (white) and fire of a match-stick (yellow).

      • That’s a good way to think about it. Thanks!

  • Thanks. I bought 12 ‘Click’ branded GU10s for my living area about 1.5 years ago and 4 have already stopped working.

Time to get a decent brand. Is $5 a build decent?

    • Been using the 8W and 11W for a few months.

      Pleasantly surprised and very happy.

Topped up with some 18W and 11W stick models a few days ago.

Than for feedback. Might grab em. I like amazon’s warranty. Much better than dealing with the crazy butch chick at local Bunnings

Philips also makes good quality lights (IMO) and I've gotten several years of use out of the LEDs I've installed.

Thanks bought 500 of them. Shud last a lifetime..

Title says "Philips LED Light Bulb (E27 Edison Screw 18.0W A67) - Cool White" but image is showing as Philips 6W 470 Lumen Warm White…

EDIT: Nevermind, read the Customer Review Comment:

I confirm this is a full 2000 Lumen, screw fitting for a standard size fitting. *** The photo needs to be updated *** It is slightly larger than a normal globe and may not fit in a tight fitting. Colour temperature is beautiful with a bright vibrant feel, gone is the old revolting yellow globe… Power is like 1.5x an old 100w globe and gives generous light for an average size studio unit. It uses only 18w of power. This globe burns cool and does not put out as much heat in summer. To turn off and on does not seem to do as much damage to the globe as the twist or fluoro tubes.

If you want to do the whole house with these I think Amazon sell the multipacks much cheaper with "Amazon Basics" - but check to see you get the nice colour temperature

    delivery fee kills the deal

    • It free delivery for orders over $49.

      • +1

True but need to buy 9 bulbs to qualify. I did upvote but deal is not for me

        • It also good if you're planning to pick up other items to make up $79 (for $20 off using a new account).

        • +2

@RichardL: Got to waste money to save money!

  • No 23W 3000lm bulbs :sigh:

    code does not work

    • +1

Code is for new account only, and for order with a minimum of $79.

  • I bought 10 bulbs for everyone's benefit here, there is no information about the shade level of white (kelvin). When I get it, I will advise (even if the deal expired).

    • The Warm Whites are 3,000 K. 13W.

    • The Kelvinator :)

      Philips are on 1300304404.

  • Want e27 stick.

    • $6.95 @ Bunnings. 11W. Warm and Cool.

    • $5 @ Woolies.

Just some notes for people who may not be used to buying LED lights, applicable to this post:

    • Most led lights say "do not use in a closed (no airflow) fitting". This is because, like most electronics, the hotter the ambient temperature, the lower the lifespan. However, if you're using it in a place which is always cool, I guess it might be OK.

    • The high lumen output LED lights are physically larger than 'regular' lightbulbs. Check that your fitting can actually fit them (as per the above, if it's an open fitting, it's probably OK anyway)

    • Cool white is fine for a worklight or kitchen, but for a lounge room/bedroom you may not like having cool white, and prefer warmer color temperatures. See: https://www.batteriesplus.com/blog/lighting/seeing-things-in… for further explanation.

Also add that they are not effective sideways i.e. not for ceiling fans.

      • why not?

    • is the higher wattage/lumen the hotter ?

    AZIZ… LIGHT!

    • Going WAY back with that reference! The Fifth Element came out over 20 years ago…

  • Perfect, thank you.

I added in cart 7 globes for $41.97. Added two $20 games in Buy 1 Get 1 Free to reach $81.97 and used $20 off at Amazon AU for New Users (Minimum Spend $79). Surprisingly the $20 off applied first then Buy 1 Get 1 Free applied so price was back to $41.97. Very happy to get these globes at a good price and two Xbox One games free.

  • Hopefully these smd are quality Phillips been using from the beginning… Not sourcing cheap nasty ones for these pricing…

  • No Hue?

    • -1

you want a hue for $5.99 ?!?!? HAHA

      • No, I want Hue on sale.

  • We did it boys! Its #1 Bestseller.

  • Hue starter kit $119.99

  • How do these compare to 5730 SMD Light Corn Bulbs? Like: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/253398783498
