  • got one of these for $73 in last 10% off. put it in one of those amd A8 laptops for $206 from grays deal - really good cheap laptop for the price now. Other than games and compiling code it does everything else quickly. this is a cheap ssd so not as fast as others, but still a massive difference from mechanical hdd. unless you're an enthusiast you won't tell the difference.

  • It seems that WD green is the cheapest amongst common brands.
Wait for its M2 version gone sale, wanna get one for steam drive (w small and light weight)

  • Get Kingston A400, better performance, 240 gb for $78 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/382698

  • Was looking at one of these myself, but found that WD don't advertise or print anywhere the write speed on the green SSDs.

I've seen reports in forums with people getting sub 100mbs write speed and 450-500 read speed.
WD released a firmware update for them, which increased wrote to around 150-200mbs write. Much better, but still not as good as the less than $10 more Kingston AV400 series. Which offer around the 300-350mbs write.
