Received an SMS from ANZ… 10,000 bonus Qantas points if you transfer from FF Black to Platinum.

Call them on 13 13 14 to make the switch.

Points credited within 2 months of making an eligble purchase after making the switch.

T&C say only available to people invited to switch via email or SMS so assuming it's targeted.

Could be good for those who still have more than 2 months left on their Black card before the annual fee renews.

If you actually want to hold onto the card and pay the lower annual fee (which I assume is no one given this is Ozbargain), make sure you're aware that the Platinum card is 0.75 points per $ vs 1 point per $ on the black one.

  OP, it is ANZ Platinum not Premium. I thought Premium may have been a new level above Black!

  It’s a trap. They dont want you to cancel the black then apply the anz platinum offer they have time to time. From experience they will still need to do credit check when you moved between different product.

    Normally, there's a 12 months exclusion to prevent you from just swapping from the black to platinum and vice versa.

    "ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black" all have the same 12 month exclusion.

    But yeah, this is just offering a cheaper annual fee to try and convince you not to cancel.

  What’s the point! Cancel your ANZ black and join the current Westpac Black offer! ( 0 annual fees). Then 12 months later….

  product transfer shouldn't incur a credit check. you can do it on the phone or download the form. annual fees are pro rated . not sure what will happen since most have a black card that has the 1st year waived.? not worth it if they charge you a full annual for the platinum upon completion of product change. does anyone know how many months you got that anz allow one to reinstate a card and does it entail another credit check?
