Xbox Live Gold 12 Month Membership (VPN Required) - US$31.41 (AU$41.72) @ GamesDeal

413
GD3%off

12 Months of Xbox Live Gold. Cheapest I have seen in a long time.

Requires a VPN to redeem the code but will then work on any account. They include instructions in the email with your code. I received my code about 2hrs after ordering.

Easiest is to download the free VPN app tunnelbear on your browser/iOS/Android. https://www.tunnelbear.com/

Then simply connect to the Brazilian server and follow the redeem link in your email to apply the code to your account. Must redeem on the MS website and not on the console. Can stack up to 3 years. As soon as you’ve redeemed just disconnect your VPN and your live sub will be extended and useable as normal.

Use the coupon code for 3% off. I paid with PayPal to be safe which incurred a 4% fee.

Anyone know if I can buy this now and activate it later? I've got a new xbox one s in the cupboard for my son (have not given to him yet, waiting for a 'reward' moment) and was thinking this would be a good addition, but I don't want to activate it until he gets the xbox.

    • Can’t see any reason why not? They just email you the code that they’ve scratched from an official Brazilian Live sub card. It’s literally a photo after they’ve scratched the card. Personally I’d prefer to redeem something like this straight away though just to be safe and incase MS ever closes the loophole.

    • same, except waiting for my amazon order to arrive and then there's the $1 deal ( https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/382974 ) - expiring soon

      • You get a 1month free trial card for live apparently with the xbox minecraft deal box. Stated in the reviews on Amazon for the console :) the free 1 month will cancel out the $1 deal

        • +1

ah ok I was wondering how that worked. Can I do the $1 deal (30 days), let that lapse if needed, console code (14 days), then this one?

    • Yes, you can activate this later.

Keep in mind you'll need to set aside some time to activate the code, since it's not as simple as "go to website and click redeem".

      • +1

Cheers all - yep, I'm technically savvy so no issue there.

I left a code I purchased online for maybe 9 months and when I came to use it, it had already been redeemed. Neither the vendor nor microsoft would help. I'd be inclined to use it within the paypal/ cc coverage period.

      • Noted, thanks - I think if I purchase one of these it will be activated as soon as I can as seems too risky to wait.

  • Can anybody confirm if 3 years is still the most you can stack?

    • From everything I’ve read yes.

      • Cheers. Hopefully the price for subscription doesn't sky rocket in the next few years.

  • How long did it take to receive the code?

    • +1

Just under 2hrs. They send a photo of the back of a scratched off Brazilian Live sub.

      • +1

Thanks got mine, it worked :)

        • Welcome :)

  • My order was cancelled for some reason, even though my paypal account has not had unauthorised orders.

    • +1

      Weird.. sorry to hear mate.

      • +1

Cheers, thanks for your help btw. Might try the CC instead.

        • +1

Personally I would not give CC details to a random party…

Each to his own, but expect to cancel your card and spend hours on the phone to the bank to get your funds back (I've had first had experience at this - never again will I use a CC for some overseas company or random entity on the web).

Received the code within 5 minutes - awesome. Super easy to redeem too. Thanks OP! Perfect timing with my Amazon Order! :)

  • +4

Any risk to getting your account banned for doing this?

    • Cant see how. Once you've applied the code using the VPN the system will apply the twelve months.

  • I am very new to Xbox. Just bought an XBox one S from the amazon deal. Still don't know why I did it.

I really appreciate if someone can explain the benefits of having this membership. I am not after world-wide-multiplay stuff.

Does it include things such as Music/TV?

    • +1

For $41 its well worth it.

While the main reason you want it is for online play. Microsoft every month gives away 2x Xbox one titles and 2x 360 Titles. While they differ on quality every month. They've included some amazing games! Playstation got Xcom2 which im jealous about though :(

    • +5

Main reason I have it is you get free games each month so worth it just for that. I don't have time to play many games online but still worthwhile for the free games you get each month. google xbox games with gold to see this months games.

    • +1

Simple, no music/TV but you need it for ALL xbox online multi player games, you can't play against other real ppl without it, so it gives you access to their online multiplayer network, games get pretty boring playing against the game bot eventually.

The games you get free are just a bonus which came later on, but good as mentioned by others.

    • Thank you all! appreciate it!

    • I'll also add to the list that you get discounts on other purchases and "free to play weekends" for some games.

  • The last deal from about 3 weeks ago didnt get code so used paypal for refund …couldnt get response from gamesdeal so just lodged with paypal . sure others will have more luck ….

  • getting cloudflare errors through CashRewards

My order was cancelled too for some reason, even though my paypal account has not had unauthorised orders. Seem like a dodgy merchant.

  • +2

Before purchasing have a look at previous deals from this seller.

Some real dodgy behaviour, I don't think it's worth it.

  • My order got cancelled too

  • just ordered and got the code in email in about 5 minutes. payed with paypal and they charged me $43.52 AUD

  • +1

With Microsoft Store, Shopback and Amex it seems possible to obtain 12 months for A$38.

Until 17 June, you can still get 6 months for the price of 3 on MS Store (https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/store/collections/xboxlive/p…).

3 months Xbox Live Gold on Microsoft site + 3 months free = $30 for 6 months.
Pay with AMEX and you get 20% cashback = $24 for 6 months (my $6 credit has already been applied)
ShopBack (https://www.shopback.com.au/microsoft) gives you a decent amount of cashback (mine tracked at $9.50, but I expect I will only receive the advertised $5 cashback) = $19 for 6 months (hopefully only $14.50!).

The code for an extra 3 months will be emailed on 20 June.

It says only one offer per customer. I suppose it is possible that by using another MS account to obtain the codes, you could stack to get the 12 months. Unfortunately, I have no idea whether it will work until I try to apply codes to my account after 20 June.

  • You might need to use same email for the gamesdeal acct or guest checkout as your paypal acct or it might think stolen paypal details sending code to 3rd party ….

    • I used the same email for both PayPal and GamesDeal and still got my purchase declined.

  • I just ordered and got the code instantly.

    Already applied to account

Just put an order in and within 2 minutes had the code. Redeemed no issues with PIA VPN (Brazil). Also got a free month extra by turning on recurring Xbox 12months charge to my card. Soon as I pressed yes I turned of the recurring charges. 13 months for $43.00

    • Tried turning it off straight after and it takes the free month off too.

  • I took the plunge. Paid by 28 degrees, got an SMS verification from 28 degrees, came instantly.

I suggest not Paypal. Dispute with your CC company if you truly have a problem. Paypal is more expensive and higher chance of being cancelled.

    • This website is totally random. My 28degrees order got cancelled, but Paypal one went through.

    • I tried it with my 28 Degrees card too and got my purchase declined for security reasons. What a waste of time.

    shonky merchant pure and simple.

  • 10:30am - Purchased 2 x 12 month codes.
    10:35am - received order confirmation.
10:45am - received security check, asking Paypal name, order number, order $ value and where I heard about the site.
11:00am - order cleared, 2 codes sent through immediately after. 1 code was already redeemed.
11:15am - helpdesk sent through instructions on contacting Microsoft and requesting redemption date for replacement/refund
11:30am - sent back screenshots showing code had been redeemed March this year
01:00pm - new code sent through. Worked perfectly.

Overall - unlucky in the codes but their support was great.
    Will use again.

lucky you. Wonder why they use a german email for paypal but supposed to be yank……

hey wait you did ok so you don't care.

  • +1

Okay so I re-ordered after my original order got cancelled by pay pal. This time I didn't use pay pal and received a code in a few minutes.. great price and easy to register.. downloading Metal Gear Solid as a free game now..

  • +1

Thanks OP. Ordered and activated @ USD 31.73 paid with paypal.

  • Anyone knows when does the code expire?

  • +1

Great Thanks OP - all worked first time PLUS Microsoft gave me a bonus 1 month gold when then they asked whether I would click on the auto renew option… Sure I'll do that… now I'll just turn it off :)

13 months for 31USD… not to bad.

  • I’ve had two cracks at this, with PayPal payments. No go. No reason given other than security verification check failing. Have never had an issue with PayPal payments previously. Have also previously bought from GamesDeal.

  • I can’t purchase. I’m paying with PayPal and it says my credit card is expired…

  • Ok I got it to work, but now I can’t even log in because the LIVE CHAT bubble is blocking the window that pops up to confirm my account. I’ve already paid and I have no way of logging in. Stupid site

    • Ok, so I managed to log into my account but there is nothing in my order history page. I have an email with my receipt of the payment, but I don’t have any confirmation email from gamesdeal. This seems super dodgy. It’s been more than 2 hours and no code.

      • I emailed them asking what’s going on and they say they have no record of my transaction. My PayPal account shows the payment was made and I have a PayPal receipt. The payment HAS been made, so there’s obviously a problem with their system. Dodgy as hell. I just want a refund.

  • Awesome deal. Thanks, OP.

  • Thanks OP, worked perfectly for me. Payment via paypal, code received within 2 minutes and tunnelbear worked a treat!

  • Bit of hassle but worked like a charm. The 1 extra month was especially great. Nice one OP!

  • Worked perfectly with Brazilian VPN. Received an extra month for turning on auto-renew and then turned it off straight away at this link to get 13 months

  • Purchased today and got refunded 30mins later. "Your order has been cancelled due to a security check of our system." Waste of time.

  • My XBox live access expired 2 days ago so this was timely. Purchases 3 of these… got verification from Paypal which i authorised. Shortly after, got email from GD asking me to answer some verification questions which i did.

Codes were emailed to me not long after that. I followed their instructions on how to redeem and bingo! 3years worth of xbox live access stacked =D

    Thanks OP

  • Tried this, but when I went to redeem microsoft said "Contact the seller to get a code that works in your region. This code was purchased in a different region and cannot be redeemed." On the redeem page (Australia) was after my email address, even though I was connected to a Brazil vpn.

    UPDATE:
Okay, so I got it to work. It turns out NordVPN (Brazil) will not work, but TunnelBear (Brazil) does!
