The 8TB and 12TB aren't as good value though but 12TB is cheapest after the discount and 8TB is very close (assuming you value Computer Alliance as a potentially better seller):

I have a WD Gold 8TB in my little 2 bay Synology, an amazing drive. Probably way overkill for what I want it for, but meh.

Constant 200MB/s read and write is very nice.

    • I read somewhere they're a bit noisy. How are yours?

I still haven't got mine as they were only sent today. They're going in my work workstation/build server machine so not too worried but it does sit under my desk and is otherwise very quiet (even with 2 x Xeon 10 core CPUs going full tilt)

  • huh….they dont hav 10tb varient…

    • They don't have 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7.8 or 9.2345 TB either. As enterprise grade presumably a smaller more "standardised" set of sizes is deemed fine to them. WD do have all the range

      • a smaller more "standardised" set of sizes is deemed fine to them

12TB isn't small…in fact that's the biggest money can buy!

        • Read what I wrote.

"A smaller … set of sizes"
