  • Just buy a redmi note 4 (or are they up to 5 i dont remember), i have a redmi note 3 pro and it is better in most ways than an iphone 6 (my sister has one and we have directly compared lots of things) and cost less than this 2 years ago. So the newest redmi note will be even better and should still be slightly cheaper.

even the iphone 5 had band 28 support which not even the redmi note 4 has ….. yes we had a xiaomi redmi note 4 …..cheaper than iphone , but also bigger , now one of our phones is xiaomi A1 ..still no band 28.

but it depends if you want to run android or ios …….

….if your friends have iphones , or ipads, or macbooks, or imac and you want to face time then you need an iphone, no face time in android, apple doesn’t run cross platform servers.

..sure you could load other apps eg skype but some people can’t be bothered to create “another account” and learn another app and upload their contacts to another cloud provider, or run whatsapp and have facebook tap into and save your messages ….. in the world of free android apps they need to make money somehow and how do you make money if you don’t sell phones or charge for apps ?

with older iphones people need to be careful up to what version apple supports ios to …..ios get about 5 years of updates, but that is better than 2 on android i guess….yes i’m an android user.

also “as new” if it’s used, then somebody else has used up the apple warranty, with apple warranty is great, you can go into genius bar and get swap over phone under warranty if old one isn’t cracked screen or water damaged …..

also “as new” if it’s used, then somebody else has used up the apple warranty

yep I think they're imported refurbs. They have their own 6mth warranty and you pay for postage.
I had a mate ask me about their SE. I suggested they spend and extra ~$100 and get a new one with an apple warranty and a new battery.

        • i’d buy new and get the warranty , also new has genuine apple battery, refurb could be cheapo ….found out with battery for a macbook ….the aftermarket one was much lower wattage …

      • Whats the deal with band 28 anyway, is it just faster? what do people need that for on a phone? i can watch 1080p youtube without it. Do people torrent mulit Gb movie files on mobile internet?
dont iphones have like 20% market share? so more likely your friends and family dont have face time. so if somehow everybody you know has iphones and can't be bothered to spend about 30secs to make a skype then yes spending an extra $50 on this worse phone (in all ways but band 28) is a good idea.

Im not saying that all iphones are bad and that you shouldn't get them, im sure iphone 8 and X are great and good rivals to current flagship phones, just saying theres less point getting a second hand old iphone when you can get a signfificantly better (in most ways) NEW phone for CHEAPER.

    • It’s more a matter of iOS vs android at this price range.

    • Can you Use FaceTime and iMessage ?

      • FaceTime and iMessage is proprietary.

      • +1

you can on apple not android

      • No, but i also have no need or want to. Everyone i know uses facebook messenger and barely anyone does video calls at all and if they did want to they could use skype.
Hardly seems worth spending an extra $50+ for a second hand (instead of new) phone that is in most ways worse. Oh but at least its apple, like that means anything.
I had an iphone 5 for a while and liked it, but got the redmi when the iphone broke. Theres basically no difference between Ios and android, people just seem to buy into it being super great for some reason.

    • Yes I agree I have a Redmi 4 Prime/Pro but iPhones seem easier for non-savvy people!

    Refurb

    • +1

yep, if they're being tricky with the wording now, imagine the fun if things go wrong.

  • There phones are not that great compared to certified directs

    • Is Kogan a certified direct?

  • I thought iPhones are unlocked

  • how come i dont see any more post on iphone 8?
    no one likes them?

    • too new ….new iphones if australian stock come with 2 year warranty, so need to wait until people are out of warranty and contracts for those to hit the market in volume ….

.else it’s just people who got one on contract and are selling and keeping sim plan.

Thanks OP, got one. I was about to buy an iPhone 6s 64GB second hand for $400 but this was one at the same price for 128GB

When they say next day delivery they aren't kidding. Got it (iPhone 6s 128GB gold) this morning. Sadly it won't let me restore from iCloud backup over mobile data, so will have to wait until I get home before finishing setting it up.

It didn't come in a retail box, but it is in very good condition (no scratches anywhere that I can see) and the cord, plug, and earphones look new. If I fond anything dodgy later I will report it here for anyone doing searches on this seller in the future.

  • 64GB - $344

    iPhone 6S 64GB is $379.19……….. not $344

    • Thanks, they changed it :/

  • My delivery arrived the day after I ordered so extra quick turnaround. I ordered an SE with 128GB and I’m sure it’s brand new. The screen and back has the plastic to be peeled off and it came in a slimline white box. I remember the same white box used to replace an earlier iPhone of mine at the Genius Bar in an Apple store. I reckon Apple had excess stock of some spares so they’re selling them to this supplier. I got my phone at close to half the retail price so I’m very happy. The USB charger is genuine Apple but the Lightning cable and ear buds are not Apple original parts.
