  • I thought the Amazon Prime trial was just Amazon US items not items sold by Amazon AU?

      • FINALLY! Now I'll sign up. A bit crappy though. I literally just bought cat tunnels from Amazon US and paid a whole $6 shipping for a Nintendo Switch (expedited) yesterday. I might hit them up on a refund for delivery fees.

They might do it. Their support is amazing and will almost do anything to keep you happy.
I had an amazon parcel show “returned to amazon” so I messaged them, they reordered it all with overnight shipping, then the original parcel showed up and they told me to keep it free of charge.
Unfortunately not something huge like a Switch but still about $100 worth of free stuff!

          Also check out prime video.
Some good shows I have started watching/watched on it(with my 30 day trial)
The Man In The High Castle (Absolutely love this one)
McMafia (Ignore the ratings it's great)
          Sneaky Pete
The Looming Tower (It's a weird show…I guess you could compare it to Homeland but they are very different)
I just wish they had more shows because I think the interface is actually way better than Netflix and the live X-Ray thing in the video player just blows all the other streaming services out of proportion.
Obviously there's also stuff like The Grand Tour which I plan to watch but it's not exactly my cup of tea. I liked top gear but only really the celebrity interviews and the specials they did like traveling through Africa etc. The Grand Tour from what I've seen seems to be more about cars than all that. I literally know nothing about cars anymore so watching The Grand Tour would be like a baby in a strip club.

        • @Basimx: Yeah I didn't want to pay for Prime without the postage but did want the TV. interesting Looming Tower is on AU Amazon as it's a Hulu show (which I also subscribe to).

        • They'll absolutely do whatever it takes to make you happy, no matter the cost.

        • @SirFlibbled: I was told The Wire and The Sopranos would be on it which is why I started the free trial. Then I realized that was US Amazon and I got cucked once again by Australia.

      It's called Uno, not Mucho.

Does a saving of $3.50 and the allure of receiving a parcel at the door really excite people enough for this to go straight to frontpage?

People see "free trial" and assume it's a deal. When in real fact, a free trial doesn't equate to a deal.

I saw people on here spending hours for $3.05 the other week. I am frugal, but (profanity) me, you gotta be frugal with your time and your money or there is no point!

      • It's free so I've got to buy something!!!

        • It's more like: "I signed up to this free trial, what can I buy with it that isn't overpriced on Amazon AU?"

Are the ones selling on eBay (from AU sellers) for the same price all terrible quality?

What's the likelihood that this set will be any different?

    • The point here is "Using FREE Amazon Prime Trial"

    • Yes they are all unofficial, so terrible quality and definitely worth buying here instead or $5 at woolies every so often.

    • Bit late but the cars set I got is great qaulity.

At least it's not that godawful Kim Jong Uno that keeps getting pimped in here.

  • I remember seeing a knockoff of this card game called Dos

    • +6

Hey Pokemon fans, something that took me way too long to realise:
      Articuno
      Zapdos
      Moltres

      • +2

Holy shit that's clever. Never noticed that!

    • As I understand, not a knockoff, but a genuine sequel. Heard it fell flat though.

    • DOS isn't a knock off, it was the sequel and it was a pile of crap, too hard to play. Head to youtube and watch the DOS howto play video, you'll thank yourself for doing that before buying it!

Remember to take note of this secret rule:

    http://www.oversixty.co.nz/health/mind/2018/01/the-hidden-un…

    • I challenge you to a du-du-Dudu-d-d-d-d-d-duel

    • +1

I learned about that rule while playing the Ubisoft Uno game online as well as the one from the Windows store. It's a shitty rule though, and like all house rules can be toggled off. Most of the house rules are pretty shitty actually.

It makes the card pretty useless if the rule is in effect, unless you're down to a few cards.

If you have a lot of cards left, and the next guy is on Uno or close to it, you can't even play this card to stop him from winning, because he'll challenge you and chances are, he'll win and you'll be the one drawing 4 instead.

Cars 2 was so insipidly bad that I'm not surprised it's the cheaper edition. The first genuine stinker from Pixar.

  • Thanks OP
