  • only $89, I love the English language :)

  • is this a 1T USB3

    or

    a USB2 three-point-five inch?

  • Hi,

Puchipucca - it is $89 plus delivery, you can calculate delivery on the Shipping tab where you can enter your postcode to calculate insured delivery costs.

    Joeydee - it is a 1T USB2 3.5" Drive

    Thanks

  • Thanks prisonerzero - I got him to revoke his vote :)

    Negging.
When harvey norman has better deals, its not a bargain:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/36904
    2TB for $99.

Also going rate for a 1TB external looks to be about $70

To be fair, this is the MyBook Elite with it's "Smart Display", which accounts for the extra cost.

Personally I think that an LED on the front that tells you how full the thing is is fairly pointless, but hey, it's an extra feature some might consider worth while.

That said, this is all of $3.50 cheaper than at ARC.

    • This offer has now expired - searching for similar offers in 3.. 2.. 1.. now

    • Those 2TB Samsungs are up to $129 now fyi.

  • Is this one of the models that's impossible to partition cleanly?

  • Not a bargain!
Managed to pick up a 2TB Iomega external 3.5" at Harris Tech (Osborne Park) last week for $98.
If this was a 2.5" HDD it would be a reasonable deal.

Come on PLE, you're my local store and I buy from you regularly but you really need to have an exceptional deal to generate any additional business from this site.

  • not a bargain.

altomic - you are quick with the negative votes. We use them a little differently here. Please read the negative voting guidelines here

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

We require a comment for a negative vote, hoping that this will mean rather than just putting in a few words that tell us you dont like the deal, you know we know that already from your vote, but tell us why. That way we get some of your wisdom. Eg if its cheaper elsewhere and where. Its not a good drive, with some explanation etc

      Thank you

      • sorry mod,

it's not a bargain as there are far better deals for similar items else where.

Umart has Seagate External Desktop 1TB Hard Drive for $69.00

Also ditto to Hellbounds HN 2TB $99 deal

        • That helps - thanks for the detail

  • Not a deal in my opinion as a I just bought a Verbatim 3.5" USB3.0 2 days ago for $10 cheaper including delivery.

  • Not a deal, I bought one for $25 though it was pickup.

  • Well for a WD MyBook Elite, it is about as low as any other competitor would go: http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=western+dig…

BUT (and this will apply to a majority of consumers), if all you're looking for a 1TB, USB 2.0, bare bones external HDD with no added crapware then you are getting ripped off: http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=external+1t…
