i got one from the last eb sale , it’s v2, very nice until and runs cooler than i expected.

  • Please note this is not a modem aswell so if you have FTTN/ VDSL this will not work by itself

    • good point. i'm looking at HFC.

      • You can use this router but you just need to purchase a separate modem to go with it. I recommend a modem that has a broadcom chipset

        • They'll usually provide a modem for HFC, at least mine has for the past 15 years I've been with them.

      • mine gangs off the cable modem optus supplied.

  • EB games have recently updated there web site. Seems like they moved the option to search for stock in store from the product page to the checkout.

To check product store stock. Check the store pickup status on the product page below the add to cart button is available. Add item to cart. Go to checkout. On the checkout page choose a store to check stock. Then just remove the item from cart if you prefer to buy from a store that has stock.

    • i did stock search when i got mine …..said south land had 2, rang them to check stock, version and if box was sealed, they put aside and i picked it up ….

they don’t hold large volumes of these in stores so good to check and get reserved …

  • How’s this compare to a Nighthawk 3200 R8000?

    • +1

it’s a lot cheaper for a start than the r8000, and end devices make a big difference in coverage and speed not just the router.

you’d need to find some software features to differentiate and pay extra.

      • I just want great WiFi speed coverage

        • for coverage they use same wattages and similar chipsets …so would be about the same unless the r8000 has been able to do something great with antennas that isn’t just cosmetic ..but i doubt it due to size being about the same and similar gain figures.

  • whats is the best way to find out if its v1 or 2 from the retail box without opening it?
