  • i've missed the v10 , should i get this robot instead ?

but the gen2 dumb mopping would means gen3 is coming , and they can't be pricing gen3 at 799, so gen2 will definitely obsolete once gen3 is out, or drop gen2 to 3xx and phase out gen1

    • What now? Is the mopping crap? I love my v1, was going to buy v2 now but the code didn’t work. After ur comment I’m having 2nd thoughts

      • it continues to drag the mopping pad & drips water over the carpet

      • The mopping is an attachment, you don’t need to use it.

      • +2

I wouldn't trust any mopping robots or vacuum robots equipped with mop as they won't do the job properly.

The only reasons I want to buy this gen2 are for the extra suction power and the extra climbing height, which will make it easier to climb up and clean the rugs.

  • Great price! I've been looking out for a price drop on the Gen 2 and couldn't resist. Can't wait for it to arrive.

  • Am I missing something or is this an insane price for the v1?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/173371464541

    • That would definitely be a fake, it's a fully copied listing and in China.

      • I dont see any info on "fake" Xiaomi robot vacs…

        • Not a fake product, but a fake listing which is most likely a money grab and run

        • @doweyy:thanks although they have 99% with hundreds of sales.. seems unlikely?

        • @Stahh:

Completely understandable and good luck :) I have just noticed the same thing multiple times happen for popular products with Chinese sellers.

    • eeek, stay clear!!

  • +1

just previously bought this for $329.00. This is a good price.
btw…..love it's work. buzzing around my place at the moment.

    • V1? Right? 329$ can’t be v2??

      • yeah, v1. I wouldn't even bother for v2. Not great value for money currently for +$200.

        • +1

Depends, some would like the mopping feature which only available in v2
Also, v2 has a "rug and carpet" mode which auto detect the cleaning surface and adjust its suction power

  • +1

Dam, just bought one 2 weeks ago for $485, could have waited i guess…oh well..

Would gearbite be cool enough to issue store credit? Pretty please ;)

    • Same here :(

  • Great deal - gearbite actually delivers in promised timeframe, unlike shopmonk!

  • I'm not sure about gen2, but gen1 with virtual walls turns it into a dumb robot.

Compared to a regular clean it gets stuck in easy to escape areas, doesn't know how to navigate obstacles or other difficult areas without a lot of trouble.

  • +1

Great deal, the link and code worked for me ($458.15). Paid via paypal, had to sign up for a free trial of ebay plus first.

I wanted the Gen 2 (S5) one over the Gen 1 for three reasons:

    • Hair - supposedly it has much less issues with tangling and picks up better. With three long haired shedding dogs and two long hair humans, thats a big deal.

    • Carpets. We have pile carpets on hardwood floors

    • Height traversal - it can cope with uop to 2m. Our LG Roboking can't.

Don't care about the mop, bit gimmicky I think. But hey, maybe it will actually be useful.

Can't wait to try it out.

    • How much better does V2 deal with long hair? Does V1 get tangled?

      • I don't know for sure - haven't tried either one yet :) I'm just going by the specs and some reviews that said the V2 was designed to be much less prone to tangles.

I doubt it does away with them altogether, but I'm hoping its much better. My aging LG Roboking needs to be pulled apart every several days and it can't cope with carpets, so the Xiaomi V2 should be a serious upgrade for me.

I'll try and remember to post a review back here after a couple of weeks.

  • Just bought one. Can't wait to have a clean floor all the time.

  • Didn't know v1 got the area clean feature via an update. Don't see it in the app either. Does anyone have any info on how to use it?

    • There's zone cleanup on screen button at the right bottom after update. Choose China for location.

    • You just need to upgrade the app and then the vacuum’s firmware and you should see it on the vacuum main page at the bottom

  • Waiting until the v1 goes under $300 again personally..

    • Again? There has never been a deal under $300 for AU stock of this vacuum, the only deal under $299 was shopmonk and they aren't reliable at all

      • +2

        More reliable then roboguy!

      • +2

As someone that got the $299 shopmonk deal I can say it was delivered in 3 days and was fine. They have been a lot more iffy since then though

  • 15% off eBay Plus Items (For eBay Plus Members, $50 Minimum Spend, 30 Day Free Trial Available) thanks to TA!

Unless I’m blind, that deal was posted by evolution-flip, not TA.

Good price for the V1, $5 cheaper than the other deal you posted through their own website. Still waiting on delivery for it though sadly!

    • +2

You're completely right, my apologies for that. And that's unfortunate, I can get Sam to contact you if you would like about it? That seems like an unusually long wait

      • Oh nah all good, it’s not Gearbite’s issue as they posted it Monday last week, just Australia post taking their sweet time. It’s a gift anyway so only needed it by mid next month :-)

If it works as well as I’ve read it does, might need to grab another one for mum when it’s on sale again.

        • Ahh okay, damn AP, they're good sometimes and useless others!

I definitely think you're in for a treat!

  • +1

Is the $130 difference worth it between v1 and v2?

    • Personally I still think the vacuums are way overpriced. $200 seems more reasonable. And if you are already paying $300+ for one the extra benefits and features imho are worth it for $130 in gen 2 especially for the increased dust bin capacity, suction power and digital virtual walls.

I just wonder how long these machines will last because if they are potential heirlooms aka last a lifetime due to good workmanship or care then the gen 2 would definitely be much better for that stronger suction power and better app functionality.

  • Can someone tell me how these robots perform in cleaning women's hair? Say 15-35 cm long hairs

    • +1

It has a roller brush that picks hair up. You might need flip the robot upside down and pull the hair out every so often (once every two weeks).

      • Thanks Mate. That helps…

    • That looks like a great find. Anyone else has bought from this?

      • I got one ill update when it arrives cant seem to find any fake versions… and he has almost 99% feedback.

    • As I said above, that's definitely fake as it's a fully copied listing.

  • Expired? Code doesnt work for me despite having an ebayplus membership .

  • Just tried & purchase from that link & now 'Seller is away' comes up.. looks i missed out on the cheapy :(

  • Bought this on the 11% ebay off deal. It seems only to run on the Singapore server. Reading some comments online, it seems the latest firmware update has ensured this. I have to juggle between two xiaomi accounts to control my Yeelights and this Vacuum. Has anyone else encountered this?

  • Is this deal still active? It isn't showing the cheaper price for me despite having ebay plus. I already have one v2 picking up another 2 for family members

    • +1

      Use the coupon "PLUS15" :)

      • Thanks, just realised I was a bit of a potato this morning. Can confirm the deal is still active, just bought another 2. After recently getting a puppy this vacuum has been extremely helpful

  • Can you use cashrewards?

  • Thanks doweyy

  • Damn it, didnt check the page for a few days and missed the deal by one day :(
Just tried and ebay says the code has expired. It sucks.
    Back to waiting…

  • Anyone else bought and not had it ship yet? 5 days must be some sort of record…

    • If you got a gen 2, as per the OP, it should ship tomorrow
